If you are on a budget, speak to Rare Rims about the wheels they have which have been marked in transit. Nice bargains to be had if you can get a set matched up. Plus they have secondhand trade ins :)

Small updates..

Post by Safety_James »

Well in the end i purchased the white Rota Grids, will be putting them on when the weather is a little better and there is less salt about.

Coilovers are ordered, rolls bars are ordered, managed to get a complete powerflex suspension bush set for a bargain and to top things off these turned up today... :D

Good brakes, great condition, need a little clean up, and the bonus is they fit under 15's.

Just waiting on a chap to get back to me about a half cage aswell.

Will all be fitted over the next few weeks..

Update

Post by Safety_James »

Thought id update as i have done a few bits and pieces over the last couple of months...

Gary @ APT fitted me in last minute to bung the new thicker radiator in.

Acquired a genuine Mugen Phase 1 spoiler and rear spats to finish the externals off, would have been rude no to due to the price. Baffled sump has now been fitted.

Spoon calipers went on last month along with the new Rota's and the cheapy wet weather tyres to get me to and from work, track day R888's now sitting in the unit at Snetterton ready for the summer courtesy of a colleague :D

Sadly still needed 5mm spacers to clear the calipers, so had a test run with some we found up at the unit, and have since been replaced with proper 5 x 114.3 spacers with longer ARP studs.

I can safely say that the calipers are fantastic, along with some Hawk HP+ pads which a lot of the ITR guys seem to be using on track is a fantastic combination.

I wanted to find something to put an oil temp & oil pressure gauge in, but didn't want garish pillar pods or ones that go within the clock surround. Managed to somehow stumble across a chap in America who makes custom twin gauge pods which sit in the recess where the clock is in the dashboard. Made from the same OEM material as the dash it fits perfect..

Once my gauges arrive this will be fitted along with the oil cooler in the next week or so. The half cage is almost complete as this is being done as a favor in a friends spare time :)

A pic as it stands today... Dirty!!

Coming soon..

The fitting of coilovers, roll bars, cage and Brembo slotted disks. :D
