The project looks fantastic :!: You`ve gotta leave the 1.2 badge on!
There`s something realy appealing about a total sleeper! :-D I remember seeing a sierra at the pod, that looked like a snotty old 1.6 hatch ( complete with badge and roof rack!) That was running cossie lump, it slayed everything all day long! There was a diablo there that day, and the pod guys were desperate to get them together for a david and goliath shoot out! So best of luck :thumb:

Ive been busy getting the car together, but I still havent got a camera phone sorted so I havent been posting pics...

Im at another mile-stone now....

...so, yet again ive hassled a mate to get some pics for you lot. ;

All fitted up with the inside painted

And today I rolled it out the freshly painted on cav steels, and even mocked up the new cheese grater grill

...its a little way off yet, STILL havent had the engine running!

Since I put the steel wheels on it ive kinda lost the enthusiasm. But today I had my mates bike engined VW Derby track toy at my place and I had a little go in it and now im as keen as ever to get the nova finished!!!
Image

So, ive done a little bit of cutting, welded some bars across the floor, and mounted the seat.

Image

Ive also made up the mounting brackets for the steering column, which has been lengenthed by about 6 inches.

Image

The seat is mounted closer to the middle of the car, which gives a great seating position, but probably means there wont be a lot of room for the passenger seat once the extended and raised gear linkage is in...

Image

Its nice to finally sit in it and go brrrrrum! Ha ha. (You all do it!!!) :D :D :D

I'll poke Dave into joining BP, the Derbyblade (fireblade engine) is a work of art and very capable on track.

...and I was happy with white but I must admit the camo looks the nuts. :-D

If you want to see some footage of the derby in action at snetterton, go on youtube and just punch in 'derbyblade'. Sounds lovely in-car, even better in the car for real. :D

...and you might recognise the skyline in the first video, brings back great memories.
