Just corner weighted the GtiR

1170kg with half a tank of fuel........ still unsure how i feel about that....i find different kurb weights for the standard GTiR everywhere i look!

That's not too bad mate. Bear in mind how the arches were made, the mass of roll cage and big brakes.

The BMW came out at 1130kgs with a quarter tank and I have had to abandon a whole bunch of things that make your car more sensible/road legal and a better compromise than mine.

Don't worry about the weight. Just up the boost or leave your foot in ;)

Catch can..............that's even colour coded too! Tart :)

How about checking the normal publications Jamie? The typical Top Gear, Autocar style magazines should have figures for the data somewhere. Alternatively when you're next at Snetterton try to get someone with a standard one along so that you can compare them on their weighbridge. As long as there is some kind of BigPower meet going on, I am sure we can procure the use of it for you.

J - i thought the gtirs weighed in at around 1250kg? If you think how heavy items like the bonnet etc are then there are defineatly some huge weight savings to be made and obviously the bodykit and cage will have put weight back into the car, but the overall result is still a reduction which is the way it should be!!
