Have you got any tests planned for it prior to the first round boys?

Dont forget to shield that filter properly Al! Its very low and may stand a chance of picking up water (not a good thing)!

Dunc. we're planning a test day at Donny either friday 3rd or sunday 5th April. We had hoped to test it the week before this but no track day at donny that week. We plan to put about 500 road miles on the engine prior to this. Once the car is up and running then i will book the day

Kev. Good point about water and the filter. It's given me an idea, we had planned to have our spare fuel metering unit pre set at the sametime we get the car set up. I'll have to run it by Al but it might be possible to have a spare unit set up running the original air box and filter for wet days. Cheers mate

A big thenk you to Ashley Exhausts

Post by pablo »

As Alan mentioned above the new crossover pipe was made by John Ashley - Ahsley competition Exhausts. What he didn't mention was the time and work that went into it. Alan had to take the original pipe over to Ashley for him to make one in 3 pieces, Alan then had to collect it bring it back to mine and offer it up to the car. He then had to mark up each peice cut it to size and repeat for all 3 pieces. Then take it back to Ashley for John to tack weld it together. Once this was done Alan then brought it back and offered it up on the car making further marks for cutting and welding before taking it back to Ashley. This went on for 2 days before the new crossover pipe fitted as we wanted.

A big thank you to John Ashley of Ashley Competition Exhausts for taking the time to help us out at short notice.

A big thank you to Alan (Bart) for the effort and patience needed to get this problem sorted so quickly.

Power wise we have no idea as we don't know anyone who has done what we are with this particular engine. All figures that we have seen all say claimed output. The final weight of the car should be around 1100kg.
The main aim for this season is two fold.
1. Not to finish last at any round
2. To close the gap by around 2 secs. on the guys infront. (Assuming they only improve by 2 secs).

Not my job mate

In Team TNT we have specific roles based on our strengths. Alan can turn his hand to almost anything mechanical that's what he is good at, part of my roll is make sure that it works and we get the desired result. An example of this is his latest idea of moving the air filter, he says 'i've got an idea for the air filter'. When he's finished cutting it's up to me to find the right air filter that will fit and flow enough air.

It's not perfect but it works for us
