Good luck at the weekend, you sure you'll cope without me?
What was on the shopping list then?
Pug 205GTi track toy, now with video of it alive!
Not a massive amount happened at the weekend except cleaning up the car and starting the de rusting and painting the cage. However the bonnet turned up today and the sub frame mounts and polycarb windows last week. And I've checked my order from rally design and magnum motorsport and the seats, side mounts, harnesses, steering wheel, oil cooler, fan, induction kit, cage padding and it should all be here soon for the weekend. As well as my ingenius plan to keep a sunroof, but save weight

Christmas yesterday, 90% of stuff has arrived, just waiting on the roof, a complete magnex manifold back system and the single wiper conversion I bought after I'd had a few last night.
I've got 9 days off starting tomorrow so I will take some pics as I go. To inspire me further my brother also has the time off to rebuild his motorbike and it's a race to be the first with a MOT slip!
Cheers

Another days work, 4 days left to finish off the beast.

Glued in glass wont do as polycarbonate is waiting to go in

Cutting out the glue and tapping with a rubber mallet was tried

Hammer time

Surprisingly, job done

Then scraping off the crap took a while, then painting where the paint was gone with the nearest can of Hamerite

Bonnet fitted, normal pins up front and locking ones at the rear, needed as car will be kept on the road, looks gash but needs must

Rear bumper fiited, when I bought the car the bumper was screwed on not using the bumper brackets, probably because the brackets were 1 1/2" pushed forwards, slide hammer sorted it fine.

Seats going in, easy as pie!

Hard days graft for me today but enjoyed nearly every minute!

Pop rivets being too short and innability to fit a windscreen stopped play today, aargh!

Got some more done today with the kind help of Rolty. We disconnected the hand brake cables and rear hydraulic flexis and lowered the rear beam. The old bushes were screwed so I'm replacing them with solid items.
Windscreen took 3 minutes to fit when I knew how, mega easy on my own!
Biggest problems I'm having is with parts being delivered, Magnum who I bought the seats from have been utter crap, the seats took 3 weeks and the piece of carbon for the roof hasn't arrived after 4 weeks and they said it would be done straight away. Seats are really nice but timescales are awful.

Had a piece of aluminium sorted by the very kind chap a couple of units down.

A heater unit cost

Love the heater, great idea wasnt the nicest experience going round Cadwell with a misted up window. Does it blow cold as its the complete opposite on a summer track day when waiting to go on it gets seriously hot with no fan system.
Keep up the great work.
