it is a very good thing that they dont mind people watching, as the last garage i went to, i had to spend around 7 hours in a small cold room.
and i really never trust anyone, spesh garages as i all ways wonder if they are doing what you asked/payed for, but zen get my vote all the time.

Tell you what....i'm very impressed at what this decat uppipe has done for my car. Not only does the Turbo spool up quicker but there's less lag too and it's almost like the turbo kicks in just a little earlier than before or maybe it's just a bit more eager now.
The car drives more smoothly too and the map i was using seems to be working even better, i.e. better suited as instantly i can feel there is more power and an all round improvement. Just 5 or 10bhp seems to make quite a difference.
However...i am off to Scotland early hours so when i get back next week i will have to have a play with the map to see if we can eek just a little more power top end and a little more torque bottom end without touching boost. If anyone has any suggestions what i should be doing with the AFR and timing please divulge the information onto this thread at your earliest convenience so i can have a wee play while i'm up in Scotland
By the way....Paul at Zen started out mapping his own cars for himself. As time went by he got better and better until eventually the skill became a natural thing and clearly he has become extremely good at what he does, although he's been doing it a good few years now.
So.... one of these days i look forward to starting up....

I have to say even before it started blowing, and comparing that to now, there is a huge difference in the OEM v Decat.
All Impreza OEM cats are 600 cell so multiply that by 3 and that's quite a restriction all the way along the whole exhaust. I have just got rid of one of those and in my opinion it's a very important cat, if not the most important cat with biggest gains, although someone may well tell me it isn't
It's instantly made a very noticeable difference though to the overall drive and to be honest Gerry i would love to get rid of the other two as well, but to keep things safe for MOT time and random roadside emissions tests i will keep a bare minimum single cat, even if it's only a fast flow 100 cell in the downpipe which is just enough to get me through.
This decat uppipe has had such an effect that early part of next year i will definately get the downpipe and centre section done as i already have a GrpN stainless steel backbox fitted which sounds deep and rumbly and loverly
Watch this space for my next trip to see THE ZEN MASTER :notworthy:

I'm feeling a bit spoilt really having gone to Zen, however i'll have to check out what Eddy's got and his prices.
In the end though it's more than likely i'll end up with TSL slightly unequal length tubular headers, wrapped, TSL own pulse extraction system, wrapped (whole system only weighs 14Kg!!), or TSL Anti-Lag sportscat downpipe and centre section, or go for the Zen/Milltek 3" sports cat downpipe and centre section.
I have plenty of choice and will probably stick with what i know. The great thing about having a full stainless steel system from the headers back is that if i keep all the old stuff and sell my car i can revert it back to fully OEM so when another WRX or STi comes along i can just put the stainless system on that without having to spend more dosh and do it all again.
We'll see what happens
