lol engine is nearly finished and ive decided to make a couple of changes, ive ditched the old turbo and decided to go for a turbonetics GTK850 its a new turbo and is rated to 875bhp so with the other mods should send the old girl spinning sideways down the road the turbo will be here end of next week ive also opted for a dynotun nitrous kit running 100 shot jets

ive also opted to getting a custom dry sump kit made by innovate performance, cant get an off the shelf one so theres a fair bit of fabrication to do there.

with the braided line fuel system the braided -10 oil breathers and now the -12 dry sump kit its going to be a right shiney braided spagetti junction under the bonnet lol

the car will be ready for jap show finals i cant take it myself as im away but i think the tuners may be taking it for a play

heres the tubby ive got coming

100shot of nitrous without control is a good way to kill it !!

You really wont need anywhere near that, trust me 25-50 would really wake that engine up.

75hp and over really needs expert setting up imo so be very very careful

Have you bought the kit yet???

oooo we dont do uncontrolled shots of nitrous, the Haltec E11 V2 ECU has a built in progressive nitrous controller along with many other wicked treats like anti lag launch control full throttle shift. so its not a non controlled shot, its all gonna be set up properly on a dyno by innovate performance when they set the rest up when shes all run in and ready for me to abuse that is  the haltec E11 V2 is the top of the range Haltec ECU and is a an awsome piece of kit with some great features and im gonna try and utilise every single one of them lol

the nitrous kit is the only piece i dont have yet, ive been in touch with the company in the uk that can get it for me from the states and supply it with uk bottles as well so i just need to call them when i want it and it will be here in a couple of days. dont want a full bottle of nitrous laying aoround the kit comes with 3 sets of jets 50, 75, 100. innovate are the daddies and im well confident in there eability to set it up right and fit the right size jets for what we want to do. who knows it may end up being a kit thats never used but it will still be there just in case :)

I wasnt aware the Haltech had a nitrous controller in there??? Got a link i can read up on??

Even so i would advise not setting up 100hp hit on the dyno but mapping on a drag strip with a decent load on the motor.

I would also be concerned about how the full throttle shift works as if its ignition cut the nos will hit a limiter and bang, if its a soft limiter the motor could lean out.

Dont want to sound all negative but you REALLY need to know what you are doing with big hits of nitrous , there are many ways to learn an expensive lesson

cheers for the pm rich made a lot of sense and got me thinking on the nitrous thing, the car doesnt realy need nitrous at all its just another thing i can have so am / was going to fit. inovate did advise me not to bother with nitrous saying it wasnt needed and to utilise the money somewere else, but me being a big kid i stamped my feet and held my breath till they said they would fit it lol.

at the end of the day the cars a massive advert for innovate as a uk built RB30 gtst, its not an imported built block and they wont let me do anything to it that will kill it, im sure no matter how much i scream give me a 100shot they would still only put jets in for a safe power.

the missus keeps saying build it as is, no nitrous ( she realy dont want me too fit it ) see if its drivable as it is and then look at the nitrous if its needed, at the end of the day the cars rwd its got no abs no tracktion control so it should be fun as is

maybe this is one part of the project i should listen to others :)

Oh no EVERY car needs nitrous just that some need more than others :):):)

A little nitrous is never a bad thing but a lot needs a lot more care and isnt as user friendly

YHPM btw
