Project Typhoo
hi ian
no it wont be road legal, chassis is to rotten for that
but a bit of a update......
after getting it started again after it had been sitting around it needed a good going over
first thing we noticed getting it in to unit was lack of a lsd,it just spun up on wheel so for drifting that needed sorting(out came the welder)
with the diff off the car and back housing removed we puddle a good amount of weld into centre of diff to lock it to turn both rear wheels at same speed, the diff was installed back into car and we then looked at subframe mounting bushes..
these suffer from wear on 200's causing the subframe to move around alot, luckly i had a set of whiteline locking collers which can be installed for a few options drag,drift,track...so these were installed for drift.
as car had stood for a while the clutch slave cylinder had failed and clutch was stuck to floor,a secondhand one was found and installed, another job done.
while i installed a set of ngk spark plugs and adjusted timing the others stripped the interior, all rear seats, trims, carpets, doorcards, lots of weight saving here!!!!!
with engine now running very well it was time to get it on the dyno..........
strapped and ready to run we checked it at a few rpm points, all seems well so ready for a power run
first pull at 12psi it made 178bhp not bad as it been stood for nearly a year
bleed valve installed and 15psi we see 189bhp but its not holding boost through revs so i reckon a better actuator will be next to see over 200bhp
will get some pics and graphs up soon!!!

EVO 7 with 2300cc,GT35,HKS 272's,1000cc,MOTEC...the list goes on..
Bloody excellent mate
170 odd brake will be more than enough for me to crash in style :wack: Joking aside I can only hope that it holds together for the night. I understand that drifting can be very addictive if you can lose the fear associated with smashing your car to bits. This one stands me and Gary in at about the price of a good meal out (admittedly a pretty good one) so hopefully we can both have a bloody good laugh and learn at the same time.

If you need to borrow a holesaw you are more than welcome, in fact if you are needing a hand on tuesday or wednesday I may well be able to help a bit - albeit only with one arm !!!
I still have a few 16" tyres you can have, but alas only 5stud rims. I have a pair of Orange headlight covers and some of an s14 paddle clutch too if ya want it
I look forward to caning, I mean testing this to destr....standards on wednesday !!!

You can thrash mine if I can thrash yours
(actually fuck that, I've seen you thrash cars before  )
I am sure that I'll be as nervous as a kitten on Wednesday. The last time I deliberately tried to drift a car, I hit a tyre wall, so the confines of the skip pan will be very gingerly trod for me*
*initially anyway.
