Got The Long Brick
I really must buy another one of these at some point. I put 30k on one in around 18 months and it still ranks as one of my favourite cars to date.

Nice looking motor. I love the Volvo T5 and the T5R especially!
Test drove one a few years back when I was on the hunt for a company car but was slightly disappointed by the lack of boost. Mind you at the time I had an RST with about 200 bhp so that kicked in hard.
Always loved the limited run of yellow ones and only in the Estate! 8)

Well bit of a update, been having a nightmare with the volvo, fitted the dv and she was then loseing boost
replaced all the vac hoses with silicone ones, still no joy.
Took the dv off and fitted the standard recirc valve back on,that seemed to have cured it well so i thought.
Guy from the volvo forum was selling a remapped 304 ecu for not alot of money so i bought it,got it after a few days later
just before it arrived it took the mbc off and put back to running off the volvo boost control unit, took her for a run and she was
only boosting to 4/5 psi now that wasnt right.
Didnt think much of it so left it,got the ecu and fitted it took her for a spin again and she was only running 13psi at a push, spoke
to the guy and he said she was going off the turbo gadge on the speedo, mine was going no where near that,i was not happy.
Well cut along story short the recirc valve was still leaking boost, got that sorted today but still the ecu was running 13psi,she felt better
but no more boost, ran the standard ecu and shes running around where she was when i first bought the car.
So what else could it be,had a search on the volvo forums and found out that standard t5 should be running 9.6psi so i was down anyway, couldnt be a boost leak because i got that sorted.
Next to look at was the actuator rod,so had a look and adjusted it so it was half a hole out, took her out and was boosting to 9 ish psi then back down to 8 ish and holding, looked like i was getting there, decided to put the remapped ecu in.
Pulled off in 1st then to 2nd floored it and
i almost pooed my pants lol, boost straight round to 18psi then down to 16/17 and holding i was impressed tested the other gears and all seemed well.
Well its only been 3 weeks of my life sorting the problems out lol, well worth it in the end though, just tempted to take her to the rollers but will probably wait till the BP rolling road day.

Nice one mate, is it still safe at that amount of boost? I know you mentioned before about the fuelling but surely thats also taking into account a Hybrid Turbo and possibly forged pistons? I see the standard intercooler piping is plastic so wont balloon! Is the standard intercooler very big?
Ive been there before with a previous car and got carried away with amount of boost i was running! Blew a turbo and then Piston rings
If its all good though then nice work!
