My old RX7

Post by JC »

Had this for 11 years, was going low compression and I fancied a change.

I was parked next to an Ice Cream Van, an old guy and his 4 elderly passengers decided it should be written off!

In reverse (it was an auto) he bounced of another parked car, bouced off me, then the Ice Cream van and cleanly knocked two concrete bollards then parked himself using his petrol tank on top of a 3rd

Then I bought a GTO :D

Old people should be banned from auto's .. they are just a menace to society ... I saw an old lady once parking her 205 ... she must have held at 7000 rpm the whole time.

Get this... the guy, 70+ had a problem with his right foot, so he had the pedals swapped over  this apparently is legal as he then re-took his driving test with the car in this condition.....

After 50+ years of driving, braking becomes a reaction, not a thought process.

The guy never drove again, he was extremely apologetic, so lucky he never killed anyone, warm sunny day, Ice Cream van...like bees round a honeypot.
My daughter was in the car, after I calmed her down I made it a bit of fun for her, all the Fire Engines and Police, plus the Ambulances, she made some nice pictures at school

Could have been a lot worse :o

What a shame, I love these series twos. I should imagine that the temptation to steam over and cave his septegenarian head in. (Oops keyboard rage creeping in)

For a moment... but as I was wanting a change it just pushed me into a decision sooner rather than later

Maybe the testing of older drivers should be a little more stringent :?:
