Just curious as to why some of you havent ventured out on Track this year so thought I would run a poll :D

Please answer as truthfully as you can so that we can build events for next year that suit.

Thanks

Money........accelerated wear and tear on the car (which is my daily driver).........money...........fear of the red mist coming down and having a little *too* much fun.......money..........

That'll pretty much cover it.........voted money, in case you were wondering

And before you all say it, I know "wear and tear" will depend on how hard you drive the car on-track, but how many of us will ever get on track and think "I'm just going to bimble around for a bit at a nice steady pace"?

And I have been on track this year, albeit just the sprint at North Pickenham, but hopefully that'll still give me some small kudos points.

The main thing that will limit my track action with you guys is the shear distance which i have to travel. It took me 3 1/2 hours to get to cadwell as i was trailering my track car.......one long day, but worth it.

That was 2006. What are you gonna do in 2007? I had hoped the sprint would be the start of a new chapter mate ;)

couple more sprints Stu, but to be honest, that'll probably be it.

If I had access to something I could quite happily abuse on track, and had the funds (not only to buy it, but operate it, repair it and cover the entry fees etc), I'd do more. Don't want to subject my P&J to that kind of treatment though

I cant help thinking that this thread was being pointed at someone.....ie me !!!

I dont have any fear of driving on a trackday, the only thing that really prevents me from doing one is fearing that something will happen to the car (not from other drivers....mechanically) and it will cost a lot of money to fix. As its my only form of transport and dare I say my pride and joy I worry for it like its my own child lol

I still contemplate buying a cheap MX5 and stripping it out for the track. RWD, 130bhp or more equals fun without too much hassle. But then I would probably sell the Rex as there would be no need to keep it, as it is I only use it at weekends and in this weather not even everyone.

Although planning on using it on a trackday if not only to keep you (Dunk), Mr Staples and Hulk quiet..

Honestly this is not trying to force anyone to do track days (not even you Gareth ;) ) - just trying to see what we can do to help you get everyone a taste of what driving on track is about....

Cost wise, you couldnt get cheaper than the
