MLRSS 2013: Round 6- Hethel (Lotus Test Track)

This Saturday sees the MLR's first visit to the Lotus Test Track at Hethel. Gary and Logan have some practice having done two recent MSA Sprints there, but otherwise it's a fresh experience for everyone.
There's no track layout decided yet, but if you've never been- the track looks like this-
Security is tight at Lotus, so if anyone is thinking of going they need to let us know (full names) before 8pm Thursday so we can pass the request onto Mechell/Darin.

Best of luck to Team APT
Hope the day goes well for you Danny; don't get caught with any cameras in the car this time eh?

Who, me?
It was odd this time- everyone had to sign-in on the gate, but no restriction on pics or camera's? Granted, the guard told a few off for taking photos, but Lotus were happy with GoPro's, even using suction mounts.
Hethel seems to be cursed for Gary, ending the day early with a broken rear diff, and quite a few others had problems throughout- engine blow-ups for a couple, Chris arrived at the in-field chicane backwards, and even Logan found the kitty litter.

There did seem to be a lot of stoppages yesterday.

A third for Gary is no bad thing though, although the breakages are a real shame.
So it's all to play for in the last round then I take it?

Yep, Gary's rear diff called it a day after over 3 years of launching at sprints and TOTB. It's done well really.
Leaderboard-wise, it's interesting (calculated using the
best 4 rounds).
Logan is leading D, but if Liddy wins the final, they tie on points and the winner is decided on average times-
http://www.lancerregister.com/showpost. ... tcount=327
Basically- if Liddy wins, Logan needs to be within 0.35sec to claim the title. If anyone else wins, Logan takes the title.
Gary is currently tied in 3rd, with Kenny's engine currently broken, so the potential is there to secure 3rd in his first full season, though we need to work out points/times (probably at 9pm in the evening at Teeside, awesome!).
Overall Leaderboard-
Logan is the champion and can't be caught, even if Liddy wins, due to playing his Joker bonus at a round where he scored maximum points.
Gary's currently third, but again, it depends on Kenny competing.

Great update Danny, thanks
I appreciate the effort you go to with this, in terms of the detail you go to with videos, comparisons of times and the points stuff
How's Dr Hayward's head this morning?
