Travelled up to Oulton Park friday morning to checkout the circuit and watch the MLR boys have some fun in the wet conditions.

I was well impressed with the circuit layout and facilities. It was spitting with rain when i arrived. I had a wonder round the paddock.

I really liked the look of the circuit and can't wait to get on it next year in the dry weather.

I spent the night in a Premier inn and was back at the circuit nice and early for one of MSV's introduction to Drifting days.

We had the usual briefing and then the ducks and drakes around the 2 tight and twisty rally circuits then we were let free..... After spinning far to much :blush5: i grabbed hold of an instructor. we set off and i listened to what he had to say. I was originally using 2nd gear but was instructed to use 1st to start off with to keep the speed down.

There were only around 25 cars split between the 2 circuits so you would have a lap then get to the back of the queue where you were waiting no more that a couple of minutes. I slowly but surely picked it up and by the end of the day was stringing a few corners together and using 2nd gear.

I would recommend the day and now feel i have a lot more control of the car in a sliding condition.

OOOOhhh! That does sound painfull. You have to leave any mechanical sympathy back at home with the bucket and sponge then?

Good effort though and Oulton is a great track but can bite back, a bit like Cadwell can. You'll love it. :D

That looked like a lot of fun, and all at low speeds. Looked quite slim in places though.....that must have been something to learn to trust though (edge of grip levels etc)

Well done Stu. Sorely tempted to do the practice day on the 21st November now (Norfolk Arena)
