In MX5s most definitely.

You'd then have the platform to demonstrate how good a driver you really are without trick diffs and x00 BHP and ft/lbs. But of course, we all know you won't. You have the easy prey in your sights, Porkers. All you're doing with chasing B4 is demonstrating, not what a good driver you are, but the shortcomings of others. Whereas In B3, against similar machinery, you have the ideal opportunity to demonstrate to the world (well BP and a few others) that you really are a Driving God and further, show that you really do have giant slaying capability when the odd S2000 shows up. :o

Fair point, but no way is a 100bhp Mazda going to beat a 200+ S2000 in B3.

Spotted a turbo one on ebay, but that'll bump it up a class!!

You really do miss the whole concept.

It's unlikely you (in an MX5) would beat you (in an s2k) but you in an MX5 just might beat someone else in an s2k. But that would be just some icing. The real cake are the rest of us in MX5s who you could demonstrate your superior skills against by thrashing the living daylights out of. :o

I don't miss the concept Gerry. I understand fully your idea, and MX-5's are nice wee cars.

I personally don't want to be tugging round mid class though, maybe that's my issue that I need to think of, I think a few of us having the same car would be great but it would be nice to be fighting for class honours in them, rather than just pride of beating your mate! If I were to beat you but be 5th in class, it's still 5th!

PS Maybe I should drive one first then comment more!

I'm guessing you mean danger.

One advantage of everyone using the same, bog standard model, is the opportunity of group buys and roll cages would be the first to sort out.

These few posts are in the wrong thread. go and read the original thread and you may get the idea of what this is about.

We would have our own, MSA sanctioned, class just like the TVRs, Ferraris, MGs, etc.

There are four of us who are keen to do this so we have more than Debden's B5 class already.

Some thoughts

Having seen someone at Snetterton this morning, on his third supercharged engine of the year, I would strongly suggest normal aspiration for MX-5's :driving:

Mr Handa's car went well enough, as you would expect, but such fragility in something that is supposed to be cheap and reliable, ruins the point of the cars. His brakes were pretty standard bar pads and these coped well. The suspension was fine as were the tyres.

Gary (Mr Handa) reckoned that a stock-ish MX-5 with 120bhp is hugely chuckable, cheap as chips and pretty much indestructable. Not sure if they would actually be much fun though unless there was a large gaggle of you competing for track space and corner entry positions :auto:

Oh well.....food for though eh
