I know my own thoughts on this, but what do you guys think or prefer?
If we were to organise another evening event in the near future, your input in the early stages of the planning would be very useful.

I think sessioned is better to keep the novices from the experianced drivers,
but I think it would be better to do a full day, as with the limited time if you had any problems it was quite easy to miss most the running.
Also you wouldn't get everyone out in every session making it a bit quieter on track.
maybe even a novice , int and advanced session
Last night was spot on, the guys with fast cars don't want my car in the way, and to be honest, it'd be no fun to be constantly pulling over for them.
A full day, morning or evening is fine by me.
Could I also suggest that a non returnable deposit be added to the mix? With final and full payment a month ahead ?

I'm for the sessioned set up - it's far fairer on the lesser experienced drivers - aswell as those that don't want to be pushed into the undergrowth in their 'non-trackday-cars' .. especially me
Rob, I'm absolutely with you on the non-refundable deposit this is mainly as Bigpower do not run these days to make money and thus if we haven't covered the cost of hiring the track it is the 'management' who front the outstanding amounts.
There will most definitely be another one of these sessions but we can't run them too often as not everyone has the pennies to do it every month.
A question to the club members, how soon would you like to see a session like this again? ... 3 months from now? - 2 months from now?.

Sessioned gets my vote, very good idea Stuart
I chickened out of the open session at the end of the night as the thought of all you pro's zipping past me and myself holding you all up scared the poop out of me,
It will be a very long time untill I am confident enough or have a good enough car to go into a higher level, I have been offered a open session next month but after the buzz last night reality is now hitting in and an open session of all levels scares me TBH.
The group of novices we had last night was superb as I feel we all drove well and courtiously with different power of cars made things interesting apart from needing a few more BHP to get past some mr2's.

Yesterday was just right with sessions and 20 mins is plenty of time to beat the cr@p out of your P & J with 20 mins to cool down, check things over and get ready for another.
For me, I was enjoying it so much I could have stayed out if it were OPL but would probably have had a problem. Sessions adds a little discipline, pulls you in and saves you worrying about how long you've been out. I think you actually get more track time with sessions.
As for financing it, I'm with Rob 100% Having watched as some people waiting until the last possible moment before commiting I felt it quite unfair to be honest. I'm glad it wasn't me who'd committed a not inconsiderable amount to fund this and then have to sweat it out as to whether I get enough interest to not take a hit. It doesn't happen anywhere else.
The fact that this is almost exclusively for the membership means it 'should' be a better class of event so there's no harm in being a better class of member and committing a few quid yourself, plus that way, it spreads the cost a little.

Handle every stressful situation like a dog. If you can't eat it or hump it, piss on it and walk away!
Last night felt right for me. The best thing about sessions is there isnt the temptation for getting into "just one morelap" mode and knackering the car.
As for the next one - ASAP please, whilst the adrenaline fomr last night is still running. If you had announced the nest one last night at the end of the event, plus a 10% discount for those who put the deposit down on the night then I am sure those with a similar rush from the track time would have done so before thinking about it. ( I am sure I have stolen this idea from a bike trackday i went on, now that I type it out)
