Snetterton 11th June Report.

I had mixed feelings about the weather and my fears were confirmed on my way to Snetterton. RAIN wasn't the word for it 
I arrived there early for me at 7:10 and signed on straight away and grabbed a pit garage to keep out of the returning rain. the rain stopped and i grabbed a Bacon Baguette and a coffee and waited for the noise test station to open.
Slarty and Richard arrived and it was good to see them again.
We finally got on track at 9:00ish and gingerly tried to dry the track out. It was the 6th Dec all over again!!
By about 10:30 a dry line started to appear and the fun started. The track was great from about 10:45 until lunch at 1:00pm. I had a couple of good dices on track with Slarty and then Richard in there mint M3 track car and also had a battle with one of the new Nissan GTR's, quick in a straight line but overall i wasn't as impressed as i thought i would be, i reckon the owner wasn't trying 100% as i was keeping with him. (traffic did help though lol)
Just before the track re-opened at 2:00pm the heavens opened and i mean opened, pit garage doors came down and cover was taken. I honestly thought that track time would be over because so much water came down it was untrue. After hiding in the garages for about 20-30 mins it stopped and we opened the garage doors to find bright sunshine in blue skies.... Bloody crazy English weather.
The marshal's tested the track out and there was some heavy standing water in a coulple of places but they soon re-opened the track and people were soon back on trying to dry it out for a second time.
It didn't take long and grip was soon back to near it's best. W had about another hour of decent track time until it rained again for about ten minutes. The track quickly dried again and it stayed dry until it started again at about 4:00pm and i then called it a day.
There were plenty of Clio's there and one or two of them weren't hanging around, i think one of them was a clio cup car, LHD and was spitting flames everywhere.
Cars of the day for me was a lovely E30 M3 racecar in white which bloody shifted, a Sierra Cosworth and of course seeing my first Nissan GTR.
The downside of the day for me and everyone else i talked to was the numerous VX220 race tuition cars. I understand that they are teaching newcomers but surely it shouldn't be at the expense of paying trackdayers and defo not where there driving was bordering on dangerous. Braking to nearly a standstill to go round a corner when you have half a dozen cars arriving at speed behind.
Not sure i will be doing a OPL with MSV again especially if there is race tuition on the day. It really did take the shine of an overall good day apart from the weather of course.
