Fire Extinguishers

been looking through the blue book (says see table 56 appendix 1 wheres that at lol :? ) and cant find out what size of Extinguisher i need to sprint, i thought a 2L would be ok but hear i need a 2.25L one, can anybody clear this up please :lol:

I don't use one in my car and have nevr been asked about it, think its only in the Race/modified classes thats its a requirement.

well after seeing that poor blokes car go up in flames on scoobynet last week i thought what the hell better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it lol, so was thinking if i get one it may as well be the right one :)

I'm the same as Logan, never been mentioned at scrutineering. I do have a hand held by the pax seat but also one of these that I thought would be a better arrangement and cheapest I could find.

ok cheers, another question then, in the blue book it mentions for the plumbed in systems you need two points of triggering one internally and one externally is this mandatory as i fancied the plumbed in system but as my car lives on the road at home im not wanting some little scrot bag walking along and triggering it for a laugh :)

As the triggers are cable pulls, I imagine you can disconnect the external pull cord from the extinguisher.

Maybe someone (Stu) who has fitted this system can answer from experience. :)

There is a safety pin on the fire extinguisher which is inside the car so if someone does pull the cord it won't fire unless you have armed the system
