Think Russell said he was doing this one; anyone else?

I'm not down for it at moment, but have just asked Darren Berris if there are places left.

should be great value with lots of runs

I'm not sure exacly what his role is in the organization for this event but i heard about this event & paid for the event through Dave http://www.bigpower.co.uk/forum/profile ... file&u=769 it might be worth dropping him a PM too.

Hope you can get added & may see you there

Oh yeah, i did go & it was great fun & super value.

So it was run as an "open pitlane" sprint, so there were no classes, silverware or running order.
It was just a case of it you wanted a run you got in the very short que for the start line. I think there were about 20 diffrent cars entered;
Toytota Starlet,
N/A MR2,
couple of Turbo Mr2s,
nissan 200sx,
Lexus 200,
Lexus 350,
Audi S4,
new Mondeo,
N/A Celica,
Celica GT4 (ST165)
mk1 mr2
Factory TRD Toyota Celica gen7 (newest shape)
Toytoa Aygo(not big power, but subtly moded to make it a track go-kart)
BMW 330i

It was a bit damp out & about & i had 3 or 4 runs & they were all around 64/65 seconds, i thoguht that was ok, but that there should be a bit more to come. A friend comes over & tells me i've been quickest of everyone so far, which was a nice suprise

Over the morning i had 8 timed runs, during the lunch break I had a long think about the logistics of getting back from Grantham to Kent to see the start of the Brazil Grand Prix. I reckoned if i left the sprint early i should be able to get back in 2 & 1/2 hours, so deicded that i would have a few runs after lunch then pack up & go home so i could (hopefully) see it.

Straight after lunch the constant drizzle slowed up a bit & i set off on a run it felt fast & tidy, but equally quite on the limit, i came through the finish, glanced up at the caravan & i had done a 62.74 knocking over 1.5 seconds off my best time that day :o I got straight back in the queue went out again & over drove a bit. Went out again & outbreaked myself at one of the chichanes & just about avoided collecting anything. Went back out, again was still trying too hard.
So as i'd then had 12 timed runs & seemed to be chasing my own time i couldn't catch i decided to pack up & try to get back for the GP.

I set off with satnav saying journey time 2:45 & the race was due to start in 2:20 :o sadly the traffic conspired against me & I was on the QE2 bridge as the race was due to start & i was resigned to the fact that i was going to miss the start & first 15 mins. Then as i'm at the tolls they announce that they are delaying the start due to rain as they cleared the grid..... :) Could I really make it 2 juction round the 25 & then another 7 or 8 miles home????Well i did, granted it required a spirited drive, but I ran through the front door they were on the formation lap. 8)

Top 3 all day were:
Adrian Smith TRD Celica 67.11
BMW 330i 66.63
Me in the GT4 62.74

A really fun day & i can't speak highly enough of Javelin Trackdays having been to half a dozen or so sprints they have run, plus the value is superb for sprinting. Thankyou very much Dave (Prolex-uk) for getting me involved.

Sounds like you had a great time Russell and well done on your FTD :thumb:

Barkston is a great little circuit and very easy to try too hard on but not too much to hit in the dry. I've not been there when it's been wet and imagine the whole character of the place changes.

If it's not too far, the RAFMSA run sprints there at
