Sad news I'm afraid.

Just had a call from Keith Warner of HCC and he told me that the event has been cancelled

What a bummer.

:( Another event on the JISC calendar cancelled sadly, but no major agro for me.
A Real shame for Harrow CC, especialy having cancelled NW on 26/05 already.

I hope things go better for Harrow CC's sprint events in 2009.

Only an idea; but Cadwell was a joint event hosted by Sevenoaks & Borough 19 as it takes alot more running than an airfield sprint, but it split the costs & responsibilites & increased the chance of getting alot of entries. As an event it's always popular as it's the only sprint there all year. Brands Hatch costs alot more than most events, but was sold out fast & had lots of reserves waiting in the wings.
So i don't know what the possibility would be of Harrow running a sprint at venue which will draw more competitors than North Weald & also invite as many clubs & publisise it as much as possible, as I was chasing around trying to get regs so i could enter & also none of my SDMC clubmates had seen the regs, or even knew the event was on. If it were on "championships" that have alot of competitors in the championships then it will also boost the entries.

Sorry if i seems like i'm being negative, I'm trying to be constructive so Harrow CC can host some great events in 2009

Some good points Russ and I'm sure that Spence will be keen to listen to all sensible feedback at the end of the season.

Shame that events get cancelled but I think this actually helps me in the AEMC but not 100% sure :? :?

Some good points Russell. The shared organising was mentioned by Keith Warner as something they may look at. He also mentioned that for Aug and Sept 09, every weekend is booked.

Maybe a Snetterton sprint isn't out of the question as circuits are becoming more popular? At least Kim would enter as there'll be no cones there :)

I still think the late dates are almost doomed to failure but we'll see how B19 and Herts County fare.

While not doubting Gerry's post, I have heard nothing from Harrow re this event.

I am sure it is cancelled but Thurs would be very late to let drivers, who don't go on this forum, know.

Anyone else had anything official?

As I am not an official of HCC you're quite entitled to question the cancellation notice Kim, I would :D

I called Andy Stephens, who's still semi concussed from the beating he took at the weekend :o and he suggested I call Keith Warner for confirmation. No answer from his phone so I have emailed both Keith and Spencer to ask for written confirmation that I will post upon receiept.

I included a link to this thread in the email so it would be even better to get it straight from the horse's mouth.
