Provisional 2008 JISC dates.

Post by ESL »

Had a chat with Spence and here are some of his thoughts. Aiming for something like a 10 round series with best 8 to count. The first isn't until late April, so we are Ok for time at the moment.

THESE ARE VERY PROVISIONAL.

In that he hasn't heard back from all the clubs yet and not all the venues have been secured etc and there are some other possibilities in the pipeline. But alot of them are quite likely to make the final cut and it would be nice to see what people think in general.

April 27 North Weald
May 18 Bentwaters
June 8 Abingdon
June 15 Lydden
July 13 Debden
August - a couple of dates tba
Sept 21 North Weald (HCC)
October 5 Debden

Any feedback welcome

Cheers

Andy

Curborough is a possibility as well. How do people feel about events slightly further from our general area? Lydden out towards Dover, Abingdon towards Oxford and Curborough Birmingham direction.

I reckon its a good thing Andy, hopefully get some more takers in the entries from the Midlands etc, once the dates are conformed, if you have regs etc on a website then we can blanket post a few Jap forums for entries :D

Probably. Don't think I really connect with yoofs anymore. I'll trust your judgement as you are much nearer to them in age.

I got the class win at Abindon last year so would rather you lot keep away in 2008 :D Actually it's a good event. Two sprint courses, 2 practice and 2 timed on each. Big entry of 115 iirc, half do one circuit, other half do the other circuit, then swap over after lunch. Last year the timing ent tits up on one cicuit which caused problems. Trophy is a bit gawdy :o

Also did Curborough (ahem and got a class win  ) Nice technical circuit been going donkey's years. Well organised and run by BARC (nice class trophy of an engraved glass tankard, usefull for once :) ) Try to go for the long course, which is basically two laps. Timing splits give a top speed down the (sort of ) straight & 60ft time. Nice place, easy to get to, just off M42. Gets my vote as does Abingdon.

Nice choice of venues :thumb:

Damn. Gerrys got previous at our new venues and I'm in his class. Mind you, you've probably been around everywhere given your work rate last season.

Ahhhhhhhhh! So the truth is out! You are in D8 :x Bugger! I'll need all the previous to try to keep you playing catchup.

Abingdon is a big annual event. 100+ cars for the Saturday sprints and the another massive day on Sunday for the rally boys. Nice cars get there. Kim was there and John Start. Fogot to say, the best time on each course are added together for the final time.

BTW Andy, did you see that NW has reverted to the pre 2005 layout? Start downhill from the paddock area, roundabout and back out to the paddock. That's how it was when we first met. And you beat me :x
