As far as I can tell the ACU gold approved motorbike helmet I have been using for trackdays will NOT be suitable for next years JISC (or any of the sprint events for that matter)

Am I right?

Can you guys recommend a good quality crash hat that doesn't cost the Earth that is FIA approved?

Hi Stuart, I can't remember the actual regs the helmets must meet, but its all in the blue book.

I have a Sparco jobbie, open face that was circa

Cheers buddy

Had hoped someone knew off of the top of their heads as Cabernet Sauvignon has rendered the blue book out of reach at the mo :drunk:

Will look through bleary eyes in morning and present in front of the Mrs as a subtle hint for Christmas :D

Sorry mate, although I am also sure you are glad I don't know the ruling standards off by heart, as that would be uber sad

Enjoy your plonk, I am still at work

There's work and then there's work Logan, my old mate :D

Neither of which I am forced to endure at the moment...............wtf are you pretending to do at this ungodly hour anyways?

Also, diverting my own thread and trying to keep it sort of sprint related, what do you know of the new R1-R from Toyo? Looks very much like the old AO32?

motorbike lids arent allowed Stu - it has to be fitted with a MSA Approval sticker. Failing that it has to be:

FIA 8860-2004
SNELL SA2005
SNELL SA2000
SFI FOundation 31.1A, 31.2A
BS 6658 Type A/FR

or

BS 6658 - 85 Type A

Off the top of my head

Check for a BS sticker Stu. My Arai bike lid is 6658 85 Type A approved.

You get the msa sticker from a MSA official/scrutineer if you have a valid helmet.

Sparco formula is a good lid and meets all the relavent parts. about
