Curborough today

This had to be the hottest day of the year, :o

Curborough is a hell of a sprint circuit, apparently it's been going for 40 years and I don't imagine that anyone's mastered it in that time. They had 60ft time, split lap time (it was 2 laps) speed trap across the line and of course, run time.

Very slick operation by BARC with very pleasant and efficient marshalls. Kim was there and came 4th I think and wasn't too happy as (allegedly) the guy who won the class had removed his rear seats. The first three were local Evo drivers and putin some very quick times.

I got the class win but there was only two in the class. The other guy had dropped his usual race Scooby RA off the garage ramp and bent the chassis :o The one he was in had been hurriedly prepared with what was of use from the stricken RA. He'd driven the course a number of times so knew his way around. His big handicap was, the champ he was competing in dictated the tyres, some Mickey Mouse efforts that were sqealing on every bend, he also had to run in modified

Still, first is better than second and no mishaps although the run to the finish ended very abruptly as you were heading towards the start line complete with waiting car and marshalls, seperated by three cones.

Thanks gents :D

Gary, It'd be great to see your monster Evo giving Mike Blackwell's Super Scooby a run for it's money, I'd be more than happy coming third to that duel :D

Ian, don't even think about going sprinting in your car. A rather nice BMW M3 went home on the back of a recovery truck today with A dent in the front & rear wing and the mirror waving in the breeze. I heard later that it had come off the hairpin too fast, caught the loose stuff at the side of the track and almost rolled on it's way to the banking. :o I think it did something nasty to the suspension en route

And I reckon I could have knocked at least 2 seconds off with Stu in the front. :D
