Another belter of an event in my eyes, well done Ladies and Gentleman.
Overall things seemed to run very well, with only one person (Scrote I believe) getting black flagged. I understand this was for mucking around on the circuit rather than getting that out of the system on the drift nights. Aside from that everyone seemed tp play by the rules and etiquette on the track was quite good.
Sorry for the dismal safety briefing. I only found out it was my duty when I stood at the bottom of the steps on my way there, so I had very little time to wrack my brains. Apologies if it was rushed, poorly organised or just plain crap.
Thanks to loads of people for tonight. It was great to see Dan Booker, back in the saddle. Respect to Gerry H too. A fairly big hit a couple of days ago. To bounce back and that well.........impressive stuff
I hope my wittering was of some use to Buttercup. The difference between the first two laps and the last two laps was immense, well done
Was a genuinely great evening. One more event like this is planned now, with a couple of more TBC

Great event guys, I only managed a few laps but thoroughly enjoyed it. I hope I didn't hold anyone up too much.
And a big thumbs up to everybody for getting me home - including Gary @ APT for the loan of his wheels :thumb: (a pair of Rotas - not the Evo

)

Thanks guys for another excellent event - the RX made a pretty good showing for itself I think, just got an oil leak and strange sound from one of the wheels to investigate today...
Also to add my mate Simon's thanks to Ian for his passenger ride, the evening was a bit of an eye-opener all round for him I think, hoping he can be persuaded to join up and take his new Golf GTI out on track or if Ben has his way sell it for a 500 BHP Skyline
Oh and Stu, very good briefing
Cheers,
Alex

Had I known I was supposed to have done it, I would have prepared. My nerves were jumping around inside of me like a bullet ricocheting in a comic book. I owe Ben an apology~ I seem to remember one of his questions got shot down (can't remember the question but I do remember an acidic response so for that I am sorry  )
The track space seemed very generous and for me the 25 minute slots were great. No way the GTR could tramp around there at those speeds without an interval so I did about 10 minutes and then came in each time. My oil temperatures got up to around 120 a few times so a large oil cooler is very much on the cards for next year. That aside, I was delighted with the way the car drove. It was by far my most committed effort in the GTR and even though the car blinked between having four wheel drive on some laps, rear wheel drive on others and no ABS for quite a bit of the 30 odd laps, my enjoyment was not affected in the least. A fitting swan song for a car that grows more impressive the more you throw abuse at it.
One thing that a lot of people may not have realised is that all of these events are attracting a lot of interest. I was approached by around a dozen people throughout the night, not affiliated with the club or site previously, all asking for joining details and how they get involved with BigPower.
I should be sitting down with the circuit management very soon to organise next years calender, so I think we have a lot to look forwards to.
Onwards and upwards guys :thumb:
PS~ Dunk
Your car looks the absolute nuts with the Time Attack stuff on it 8) It was great to see that out on the track.

thanks Stu - the most fun I had was chasing you for those half dozen laps.... you were giving it some in that car in a way that I havent seen you do before. I struggled to keep up before fuel levels got too low and suffered some fuel cut coming out of Sears forcing me to adjust my style there (although probably not speed). Fantastic fun and a fitting end to a great day for me.
Rachel especially enjoyed her passenger laps with me and put it into context what she experienced on the Virgins track night that we ran as to how far short of the car's potential she was. I could see her braking when I was still accelerating coming out of Coram.
Best laugh of the day though was when I was out with Ian on the second session and we came in a little too hot for Russells and the only thing I could do to make the second part of the corner was sling the car sideways and floor it

.... nice. Since doing the drift evening I have a lot more confidence in doing that now but still loooooads to learn.
It was great seeing the variety of cars out there but most of all Gary's evo back in one piece and like an Exocet missile .... Gary - that is rather rapid sir :notworthy:
