Well what can i say great event great atmosphere and superb company.
Quiet a range of vehicle's today and a fair amount of the BIGPOWER crew taking part. :thumb:
Good to meet up with Gerry and a shame you had to take of early stu.
Trieds a few thing as tyre pressures for me were the problem and the new slicks
were a nightmare i expected them to rub but not on the mud flaps, inner arch,
outer arch, splash guards, suspension, bumper you get the picture. A little bit of
work and iam sue they will be ok. only a 10mm difference in profile. [-o<
The track was surprisingly slippery i had expected as lot more grip especially as
being so warm, burnt again
Sadly the event doesn't look like it will be run again although i can see BIGPOWER
easily oversubscribing if under there banner

Great day overall although
a bit disappointed it ended early would have loved a few more runs as car didn't
come on until my last and best run

Well, what a day!
First and foremost I had a great day out with some like minded serious drivers. The track was extremely tight, second gear only, zero run off, and a bit slippery in places too. The mornings practice was a bit of an eye opener. Some of the guys that done the circuit before were already putting in 55's and I was struggling near the 60'' mark

Maybe the Dagenham Destroyer was about to get its 18 year old arse handed to it? Cadwell and Donington flowed where this did not......
The day was scorching, the numbers driving were few so the driving was pretty constant, with me and the cars tyres overheating. The Toyos were superb, absolutely 'on it', Andy (ESL) even commented on it. Talking of which I went out with Andy and Gerry, and fook, those cars can shift. Gerrys is probably the quickest car out of the blocks that I have been in short of Gary@APTs EVO, it is
that quick.
Poor Gerry, he was perplexed when he was getting quicker times with my 19 stone frame in the pax seat than he could without!! I'm delighted to say that he did sort that particular anomoly out and both he and Andy drove well, balancing aggression and application well. Experienced hands clearly.
Anyway, I had to leave early and Liam and Darin very kindly offered to bring lunch forwards allowing me to compete in the afternoon timed sessions. Whoopee! The daft thing is I ran out of time at 2pm and fecked of home without checking my times.......I think I got a 55 but really not sure. Bloody great fun though and a definite date in the diary if they/ we can do another one :thumb:
Nice to see 'our boys' doing their stuff. Lee drove like a convict, Gerry was amongst the quickest potential car there, Andys technique was brutal.....Gareth drove very well but I never got a chance to say hello (Sorry) Even Dannyboy of SC fame turned up and had a play
I'll keep an eye out for results and post them soon.

It was a great day. The more I have to do with the MLR, the more I think they've got things just right. Their organisation is clockwork, with jewelled movement.
A great bunch of guys, great cars and excellent drivers all enjoying what they like doing best and in the sunshine.
Good to get o speak with Lee at last and what a superb AX he has, goes well and sounds really sweet. Andy, as always searching for where he can pinch just a bit of time to get him into the next, lower, second bracket. I had a pax lap with Stu. Smooth doesn't begin to describe his style and his driving's pretty cool too 8) How he managed to stay in second round that tight hairpin and the over 90o left I'll never know. Like a chump, I tried it and understeered onto the grass
As Stu mentioned he had a pax lap in my car. As soon as he got in he commented that I ought to strip the interior to loose eight. "You'll be much faster" Anyway, with his frame, firmly belted and buckled into the seat, I managed to knock a full second off my previous best time in practice. In the afternoon timed session I still couldn't match that quicker time so Stu suggested having another pax lap, just to see. Sure enough, my timed runs were bettered by a full second again. Go figure
It would be a great shame if this event were lost. It's a terrific day out.

Ok guys it is great to see you all had good day on track, Thank you for your suport and positive feed back.
As mentioned attendence was low but perhaps a future MLR/Big Power date could be the way forward to ensure the future of the event?
I am sure i will talk to Stuart in the near future to see what we can do.
There are some great pics use links below
