Hi folks,

I would like to offer 10 or more spaces to our GT4OC's annual Challenge Weekend on the weekend of 18th-19th August.
This year the venue is RAF Woodbridge near Ipswich in Suffolk and being organised exclusivly for us by Javelin trackdays.

We have a limited number of places available and I would like to invite those that wish to attend from "Big Power".
Camping has been arranged, by way of a dedicated campsite hired purely for the GT4OC Challenge Weekend, complete with toilets, showers, and hot water, plus a purpose built barbeque.

RAF Woodbridge is an ex-american airbase which has now been turned over to motor-racing. Throughout the year, numerous events are held there. Trackdays are held almost every other weekend, with national and sprint championships taking in this venue too, so it is a well tested location. The circuit poses a wide variety of possible layouts, including a very promising track which is 2.2 miles in length.

For those of you who are not aware of the format of the weekend, it is as follows;

Friday (17th August)
Arrive at the campsite and setup, and get ready to, eat, drink and be merry

Saturday (18th August)
Convoy the short distance over to RAF Woodbridge, ready for the track briefing, and a day full of fuel-filled fun, with the possibility of several different track setups to try your skills out on, throughout the day.

Once the days track sessions have finished, then its back to the campsite, for more food and fun and partying.

Sunday (19th August)
Once again, convoy the short distance back over to RAF Woodbridge, ready for the days drag strip events. This will include unlimited runs down the strip, giving plenty of time to test out your launching skills, and to try and improve your 1/4 mile times.

Oh No...... If this is mentioned on the GT4OC then BP will be a wash with GT4 Chavs (bit like Baz) :o :P

Duncan and Stu will have their work cut out

I will be in attendance with the GT4OC on the Drag sunday, shame I am on holiday and can not make the Saturday. It would be good to have some good non-4 competition.

Depends if you are talking Pro tuning (money) or DIY/Fun?

Adrian@Fensport manages to get 600bhp out of the gt4 2l turbo, low 11sec 1/4, 200mph, flies around a sprint track, but this is the highest level of modifying around.

A lot of owners are seeing 350-400bhp and mid 12's. Top end is somewhat limited by the GB ratio, unless the rev range is increased, at about 150mph @7k rpm.

Most will get to the 300bhp mark without too much needing doing. After this it starts getting relitively expensive.

You interested James? I'll swap mine for your Porsche :P

Surely this was the point of the invite though? To include cars outside the GT4?

thats right, you can bring whatever you like along for the weekend. only the GT4 owners will be eligible for the club trophies but you can still have a bash at setting the fastest lap or drag time.

theres plenty of opportunity to win the "most drunk on saturday night" trophy tho

(im in charge of trophies this year!)

oh, i think adrian got a 10.6 last weekend :)

Thats what I thought.

Obviously we all know about Adrian and the guys at Fensport, but I have never heard of another quick GT4 - pretty much as you have confirmed.

Should still be interesting to watch, I dont know if I'll have a car that I can come along in though.

generally speaking the GT4 isnt good for much more than 300bhp without replacing the ecu/intercooler/pistons etc

unlike newer cars, its not possible to remap the standard ecu, which is a bummer :(

we can still put on a good show however, so please do come on down to take part, or just to spectate (bring crash helmet if you want paxlaps) :)
