Another Class win for the BP Sprint Brigade

Abingdon today and got the class win 8) Second was a 4.2L V8 Ginetta running slicks :o Actually he had a bit of a problem in the morning which stopped him posting a second time phew!

Anyway. enough of that. The really satisfying thing for me was how close I was to the guys who regularly beat me (as in slaughtered by 3-5 secs.) last year. Don't have the full results yet but John Start (class winner) in his Evo 6 told me I'd beaten his time on one of the courses and I was beaten by the Porche GTR RS (also a class winner) by 0.01 sec. on one course and I beat him on the other course by about 1 sec.

Trouble is I'm not sure what to put it down to. Since last year the car's had the KWs instead of Ohlins & Eibachs; Toyo 888s instead of the Yoko A048s; a map from Zak; and geometry from Zak. Plus the gearbox with longer ratios, again from Zak.

Whatever, there must be a bit of Mocom magic to thank :-D

Yeh, I was tempted, but due to otehr commitment, off to Le Mans, and then off to Germany for a wedding i decided not to do it, doing teh Goodwood one tho..looking forward to that :D

Then Debden, then I think the nexy one is Hethel, you doing that one :?:

Who won class B3 then....was Kim there??

John Start won B3, if that's his usual class and he beat Kim. I don't understand how Brian, the gt3 driver managed a class win as he's in John's class.

I'd like to do Hethel as I've never done it before.

Thinking about it. Abingdon is once per year afaik so it's more of a level playing field. These guys have been pounding the regular tracks for years and know them very well.

I am sure some magic was involved, but unless you have the confidence in the car and it is suited to how you drive then the results wont come.

That is what I have found the 'magic' to be - he has a great way of understanding what you want and how to get it to suit you. Sounds like he has done that here.

How was the oil useage? - have you got to the bottom of that?
