Do you know if the safety requirements include rollcage, Russell?

I reckon I could persuade Lucy to come along for a scenic weekend in Brittany :-D

I'm not sure, the only info i've seen is what iv'e put up :?
I know Kim did a hill in france lastyear, maybe he could shed some light on this?
It may be that the reason its a called a "GB Masters demonstration " which also happens to be timed
This could possibly be a loop hole so GB entrants don't have to have a cage?? But i'm only specualting

Had an email back from the organiser in France and he's given me a number to call for a chat...

Matthew - the Isle of Man events look great! Have you done them before? I spent 3yrs there in the late-80's and have bike-racing pals over there. Great roads! Rains quite a lot. Quite expensive with the ferry etc, although they might reduce the entry fee a bit for competitors from "the other island" (as per the Jurby bike endurance race which I did a few times) - it's worth asking.

I definitely want to take the scoob to the island for a visit at some point, but next month might be tricky.

I have driven the mountain section of the TT course 'competitively' on a closed road day with Porsche Club GB. I have never done any of these hillclimbs, but i know the roads and I know the island have spent a considerable part of my childhood there. I have watched the TT and Southern 100 8 times, I love the place and have friends that live ont he island and own a B&B.

From another forum I frequent:

"At my local club committee meeting last week I got information on a series of 3 hillclimbs in France in May that UK competitors have been invited to participate. We'll be running in a demo class so any MSA license will do.

Here's the basic information on the events...
La Pommeraye 9/10 May - 2.5km. Between Nantes and Angers. 250km from St Malo.
Hebereven 16/17 May - 2.2km. Paddock in village.
St Goueno 23/24 May - 3.2km. 'like a fast Wiscombe'. Good evening ent.

I've entered the 23/24th event at St Goueno. Talking to John over the phone and it looks like a real fun event with good entertainment. The whole village gets involved - they have 350 marshalls for the event!! Trailer storage is available for those who want to make a bit of a holiday of it.

Here's a vid of the course - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JWNDb1epicI

St Goueno looks awesome. Will you be trailering the Charade over there?

How much are the entry fees?

Waiting for the 2009 details to be published, the Charade goes everywhere on a trailer, its not road legal. Although to go to IOM I might see about a truck rather than towing.

Knockhill's further, for me.
