MLR Sprint Series Rd 3: Lydden Hill 18th June
I'd love to do this, but in Australia till end of June. Blacky's right though, great fun, the one i did at Silverstone was really well organized, line up in order, do ya lap, have a quick fiddle, (with ya car!) then line up again. I think we got 6 runs in morning and 5 actual runs in the afternoon, but there was a lot of cars there. The next one i'm home for is Ingleston, don't know if i want to drive all that way though. But having tweeked my car abit, i'm dying to have another go. I was running in Class C, so not much chance of winning, but i still had a great time. I should be at home for Snett though.
Remember, two wrongs don't make a right, but three rights make a left!
The circuit layout for today-

Green highlights the Start, with yellow being the first lap, orange the second, the red is the finish line.

A day (and circuit) full of up's and down's, with an initially bone-dry track quickly getting a soaking, before partially drying, then wet again, then almost perfectly dry before literally bucketing down as Logan left the start-line for his 3rd official run (amazingly only 0.8 sec slower running rally slicks in monsoon conditions!).
We thought that was it- the best opportunity ruined. But it quickly dried again, so run 4 had to count... a truely balls-out drive delivered a time 1 second quicker than the nearest rival, and everyone in the Class above! More rain soon after and we thought it might be over, but again it began drying so Logan got ready for a final go. No-one was improving, but the Evo II in 2nd was on track and going fast...
But not fast enough. Seconds before Logan left the line we were able to tell him he had it in the bag. Still didn't stop him trying.

So congratulations to Logan for a surprising victory in testing conditions, congrats also to Ross for being the top Evo X and 4th in Class B and a great shame for Mark to miss out on the chance of a good battle after all his work getting the car ready.
Beer o'clock time!

Finishing off the Ford

What a day!!
As Dan has already said, it was wet and dry so many times I can't count!
Massive thanks to Gary and Dan for all there help, hard work and advise on the car, its now going and cornering as it should after a few tweeks over that last few events. Also cheers to Ross@ RossSport for his tasty turbo and other bits that make the car go so frikkin quick
:D:D
I think even my old man was impressed! And that takes some doing!! He came out with me for a couple of practice laps and did wasn't quite ready for how fast these cars take off from the line...teeheee!!
Shame Mark (RSSPRINT) had another breakdown as his cars looked and was going very quickly! I'm sure it would of been tight if his had stayed together!
Chillin today as I was a fully knackered when we got home last night!
