Evos are making a getaway in B3, Kim and Logan are going to be very hard to beat. Its frustrating because I can sense monster potential in the red wagon, the drivetrain is very fit. Some coilovers and an alignment next I reckon.
Good to see everyone, Mike and Gerry are going to have some interesting battles this year (and a few FTDs no doubt).
Well done to Russell for going very well in his first JISC round.
RAF Bentwaters 18th May Sprint - round 2 - WITH PICS+Vids!!
what you need Andy in true farmer stylee is a few bags of manure in the boot, this will serve 2 pursposes, increase rear traction out of corners and it will smell so bad you'll drive quicker so you can get out of the car again :!: :!: :!:
Seriously tho, I think if you can get the red beast to handle you'll be well on the money as it looks proper rapid in a straight line!
Oh, and I mentioned the JISC to Kim's friend Chris in the red S2000 for class one, so it may be worth getting his details, as there is only Ben in class 1 at the moment.

After the recent sprint event I attended, I can see why the photos are missing from a lot of the reports. The day is pretty well packed with lots of checking peoples times, watching runs, checking the car over and eating burgers
I must admit you are right though Pablo........photos capture the spirit of competition that words cannot always convey. I will do my best to get some when I next attend and make more effort with the write ups.
Sprinting seems to have taken on a bit of energy and interest this year on the forum. TA no doubt has raised the profile of the concept and the sheer competitive nature of people like Gerry, Logan, Trev, Andy ESL, Kim and the many other guys taking part is infectious. If you get the opportunity to attend, you really should try. It may not have the glamour of the TA series but then that doesn't lessen or dilute the serious nature and talent of the guys taking part.
In my humble (and biased) opinion you could put any of those listed above into a head to head situation with the TA guys and I know who my money would be on. Obviously this assumes similar cars, tyres etc.
That may be controversial but having seen most of the TA rounds since inception and watched a few sprints and shared cars with ESL and Gerry, I honestly think that the sprint guys would hand a few people their arses (Gucci or otherwise
)

My friend Tristan has some pictures and videos so I'll try and get them posted up later tonight. The vids are of me coming into the final chicane....crikey we were moving!! Looks fast!
Stu - thats some talk
be interesting to have a go in TA just to see where we are but as you say, we would need similar equipment!
The good thing about Sprinting is the class system which means basically anyone with any sort of budget can do competitive motosport without needing

yes but, you beat the Cup car Gerry, by 7-8 seconds, so its not all about cash is it
And myself and Kim beat the other 2 Beetles
, I mean Porkers....
What I was saying is that you can turn up in a half decent 205 GTI(for example as these are mega cheap), or a Golf GTI) in the under 2 ltr class and kick ass if you can peddle a bit, you don't need a billion horsepower stripped out racer to be on the money with the times!

Yup, its not all about what you've got, its how you use it :!:
I hear a few people saying, I'd love to do some motorsport, but my cars not good enough, I need better this and that, and more horsepower etc, but why, you only have to look at the class I am in, who won everything last year, Kim in a totally standard Evo 9 FQ320 :!:
Also it not all about winning, you are mainly up against yourself, so through each event you can see how much time your beating your last time by, and then the next year you can compare if you've improved or not.
I think its a cracking way to get into a bit of motorsport without spending mega bucks, you can spend as little or as much as you can/want/are willing to.
