Just making up my christmas pressie list so rang MSA and it is Fire Resistant Gloves ISO 69/40 spec, so not quite fire proof. And yep helmets with SA2005 are fine for another 10 yrs or so .

Hi

I'll be sprinting somewhere in 2010. Will be my first season (of anything) and will be in an mildly modified Integra. Thought that track days were loosing their trill a bit.

Hi Jason and welcome to BP. Good to know you'll be joining us in some sprinting next year.

Get along to the Newb section and tell everyone about your Integra and what you've been up to with it.

Cheers Stuart

i might as well make a start on the questions now.

I'm looking at which clubs to join - at the moment it seems like its worth joining Borough 19 and the Harrow car club. Being based in north london i am ideally looking at events within the medium distance lets say 150m. I went along to the North Weald event one sunday last October. The sunday format suits me spot on. turn up, have a good day out and back ready for work Monday. Would be able to do some 2 day events but i would get more grief.

between these clubs - would i get a good selection of events or do i need to join other clubs as well?

Second question - with roadgoing regs, i read that i need to keep all standard manufacturers equipment on the car. I presume that things like rear wipers will have to go back on the car, or is there a small degree of discression on such matters?

Hi Jason, there's no advantage to joining two clubs in the same area, either one would do. Borough 19 are the more active and also run their own championship. You'll find there's more than enough events open to you once the season starts in March.

Roadgoing should be re-named road legal as that's about the only requirement, tax, insurance and MOT, it can even arrive on a trailer. You must however retain the seats and original silhouette, so no stick on monster rear spoiler. Suspension pick up points must be as OE but coilovers are allowed, engine & g/box must be OE but can be uprated almost as much as you like/can afford.

Blacky or one of the other regulars will be along to correct me and add a few bits. Meanwhile, that's food for thought.

There are or were production classes but I doubt you were referring to them?
