Shame I hadn't called you today instead of yesterday then Gerry....I could have helped you get that sorted. Best of luck for Monday. I'm sure Mike and the team will do their best.

Get what sorted Stu? You've lost me there :?:

Almost had a disaster  Jacking the car up on the plate, just behind the sump. The trolley jack doesn't move on the gravel and the arc of the jack arm swings forward. The car moved backwards as the jack reached it's limit and the lifting pad stopped at the edge of the sump.

In a mild state of panic, I decided that lowering it could be disastrous so went and cut a few bits of plank to stick under the wheels and then gingerly, lowered the car onto those.

A ramp would have made the job so much easieras I was trying to get to the last awkard bolts with the car 2 inches from my face. Gave up as it was time for Oscar's walk. Fresh start tomorrow morning, after the morning walk and see what happens.

The promised help, in the form of my dear son, didn't materialise and probably won't tomorrow.

I meant that I could have helped you with the work. I know sweet FA about the work involved but I have a strong back and a willingness to help mates :D

Bear it mind if there's ever a next time. It could always be towed to the unit and slapped on the ramps there at

Sounds like your motivated Gery, more than I am anyway, didn't even touch mine this weekend, just couldn't face it. The thought of doing some house DIY etc was even more appealing than starting to dismantle the car :!:

Got back from there 20 mins ago. Just having a cuppa and catching up with BP, then take Oscar for a wet walk in the storm.

The whole engine episode has been a bloody nightmare and looking to get worse. :x
