Poor Mike :(
I suppose that will need to be opened up before anyone will know the extent of the damage?

Great run of results for you lot though; competition or otherwise. Was this one of the Green Belt/HCC things then Gerry? Who was the fellow with the DC2?

Mike was running less than 1/4 tank of fuel so I reckon it detted itself to oblivion on the corners. I always ran 1/2 tank min. before the swirl pot was fitted.

Not seen the guy in the DC2 before as he usually races in a Toyota series, I think he said. I was trying too hard, as usual.

My last run, after disconnecting the ABS felt really good until the second hairpin cone. It all went wrong from there. The T1-Rs were very good but too much power, too early and I skillfully understeered into second place, snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. :D

Nasty, gutted for Mikey! His knock readings were slighty high last weekend when I had a look at his Power FC. So they must of been enough to melt a piston, not good!

Who got FTD in the end?

FTD was a Jedi. Geoff Foot.

Geoff's first time out in the Jedi too!

Was a successful day if a little bitter, NW is pretty damn awful now IMO, whether it's actually changed an awful lot, or it's just that i'm in a much stiffer car i don't know! I'd raised and stiffened the front of my car and it was still bottoming out, a grand's worth of suspension just isn't worth the risk to me.

There was also lots of chat in the paddock about the timing gear/methods being a little suspect, especially with the earlier runs. Peter Moore in his XR2 set the same time in his second practise run as his first, despite spinning off and having to re-join the track! of course got 5sec penalty for 4WO, but when you remove that, the same time, work that one out! They must've sorted it out though, i hope!

I have to admit that I definitely did NOT win my class, that went to Nick Cook in the Fireblade engined kit car.

Tommy Griffiths in an Integra Type R with 79.17.

Time's are a bit irrelevant to compare to previous events though as the course was fairly different.

Sorry Matt, I must have taken the order on the results sheet rather than the actual times :embarrassed:

Well anyway i enjoyed North Weald lumps and bumps and all (well enjoyed it a bit less than Honington) Thought the slight changes improved things as best as you could. The extended 1st chicane and the 3 cones at the roundabout etc.
Do not like to see damage to cars because of track layout though.
Car was bottoming out at the front end like most cars were (it only weighs 500kg) had a quick look at the pictures from the day, and can see in one shot both front wheels are of the deck in the chicane so its going to come crashing down.Hopefully without to much damage to the shocks.
Roll on Hethel.
