Thanks for the feedback Dunc :D I will look forward to hopefully getting some and trying them out, only issue I have is no-one sems to know whether I will get scrubbage of the arches with these on a classic, I think Gerry runs them but am not sure if he has had his arches rolled :?: :?: :?

We know how well the 070s work in the wet. There was a good demonstration at Debden. Mind you the driver was pretty hot too :o

Logan, you may get away with it. I had the std suspension and STi rims with RE 040s and they touched one rear wheel arch on compression due to fast cornering, road undulations or loaded boot, or all three

To overcome it I had the rear arches rolled and needed a 3mm spacer behind the rear wheels, as the tyre just touched the OE strut.

Since then I've had Yoko 0A48s and RE050s with no spacer that didn't touch anywhere. The Toyo 888s are 215 section so no problems there.

The 225 section is a little tight on the classic but the difference with the 040s was the very square section. The others are slightly narrower across the tread and more rounded.

That's what I've found HTH

I'll be looking at 070s once the 888s have expired, which may not be too long at this rate :-D

Just to add. The coilover suspension also helps, with more clearance to the tyre and less compression.

I'll get mine on the car Monday or thereabouts Logan, will let you know. I hadnt driven mine for a while until last night (beema had run out of electricity) and had forgotten how they corner, even on F1s. Brutal!

That was quite a demo. FTD from the roadgoing saloons :)

Like you say, the RE070s seemed to work well in the wet as Duncan has said. Maybe a one tyre fits all? Save mucking around changing them all the time :)

Just secured some RE070's on some rather special rims, nice forged Rays :D :D :D :D 8) 8) 8)

Hopefully be able to pick them up this weekend.

The Rota's are now for sale.....with Toyo tyres that have done circa 500miles.....

Put them on mine, they are touching everywhere! Will have to fine tune the settings to make them work and maybe roll the arches, but dont want the wheels to dictate the setup!
