I bet that was surreal Gerry :)
Certainly was. Shame you didn't get the promised drive.

That's the first outing it's had since it was mapped by Steve Simpson in October and what a difference. It now has smooth power delivery and no lagginess and most importantly, no bloody det. I wouldn't have let anyone risk driving it before as it just wouldn't have been fair if something had gone bang. Engine confidence is back but handling confidence is still pretty low.

Maybe next time :D

Handling confidence

I have taken some steps today to sort that in my case. The car will be going to the relevant people before the New Year for full;

alignment
camber, castor and toe settings
corner weighting

If that doesn't help it will be time for another driver :)

Just a quick note to say thanks to all for a great day & a big thanks from me and mrs greenthumb to garry for the passanger laps in the evo, what an evil machine  . I think we have caught the bug because all yesterday was spent at looking into getting both cars a bit more track ready  .

Cheers. Matt.

Best I add my 2p's worth :D

Had an enjoyable day. nice and relaxed. My bro enjoyed his passenger laps with both Mike's and was smiling like a cheshire cat when he got of Mike Blackmores 25B :D :D As was I when I had a ride round with him, wel set-up and very quick Impreza.....started me having silly thoughts about my dusty garage bound Impreza!!

Alos, cheers to Mr Hayward for a ride in the beast. I was muchos impressed wit the pure brute force of the thing, with the dog box and sequential shift. Also the brakes were very impressive and made mine feel like wood when I went out again!!

I now have lots to think about

My driving day was pretty smooth apart from being black flagged for my rear valance decising to try and revmove itself and then duly melt itself onto my exhaust, this was quickly removed by Chris from APT before I could take a more agricultural method of removal!

Had a good few laps chasing some cars. Was looking forward in the afternoon being out with Stu and Stu in there Bimmers but it didn't quite work out! Was nice to meet Bealo. Another top bloke from here! What I found in the main waas you could gain loads of time on people on the brakes.... alot of people were really coy with them, whether its for mechanical sympathy or just people own limits I'm not sure.

Again tho, it doesn't quite have the buzz for me that competition has....but has teh advantage of learning the car more and plying with different techniques etc.

My brother said on teh way home that was an expesive day for him, I then said why, it only cost him a tenner....but then he said we will be coming to the next one in a new car that he will be buying....oh dear, I think I've got him hooked!!!

A bit belated and echoing others, but...
I popped down for the afternoon. Great to see Stu haveing fun in Betty and tusling with Bealo.
Glad Gary did a good few laps, but shame about the oil leak. At least it was nothing major, just annoying. Must be my turn for a pax lap next time.
There were nice cars out there and a great bunch of people.
A nicely organised event too. Nice tpouch with the refreshments. Well done Dave and Phil.

I heard on the jungle drums that a white Golf managed to find the Armco. Was it anyone we know?
