Wonderful video and the result is a fitting one, based on Logan's great driving and the tremendous support and knowledge of Gary and Danny @ APT

If you keep winning Logan, am I going to have to start paying you to look after your car?

I like to do direct comparisons of laps to see where time can be gained/lost, so he's another one for you all, using Logan's two best laps-

As I said in the original post, Ross was using his infamous 30-130 silver VI in a new "Sprint" GT30-guise for the first time, and did pretty well considering how different it is to the Evo X he used last year- 7th out of 70 runners. :)

A quick vid from early-on in the day while having some oil pressure/cutting out issues-

...and a pic of Gary's too (all courtesy of the MLR's official snapper's)-

Thanks for the comments guys :D

Needless to say, the day ended well!

I've cut and pasted the press release of this round as it tells the story better than I could!

[quote]LATEST NEWS - 20th May 2013
The Pace Ward MLR Sprint Series
Round 2 Report - Blyton Park
18th May 2013

Black on top at Blyton
Logan Black produced a blistering performance at Blyton Park Driving Centre on Saturday (18th May) and, in doing so, set the fastest time of the day in round two of this year's Pace Ward MLR Sprint Series. After an intense battle with Anthony Lidster, driving his Evo VII Black took the lead on the fourth of the afternoon's competitive runs and went on to set the eventual FTD by a margin of just 0.29s on his sixth and final outing of the day.

The weekend saw the increasingly popular Mitsubishi Lancer Register promoted series visit Blyton Park for the second time since the venue was updated in 2011, the North Lincolnshire circuit now featuring 1.5-miles of good quality asphalt laid over the concrete runways and perimeter tracks of the former WW2 airbase.

Overnight rain prior to the event meant that conditions were wet for the first of the morning's practice sessions. But, as the day progressed the track surface continued to improve, even though the low ambient temperatures did little to speed up the drying process.
The indifferent levels of grip caught out a number of drivers during their inaugural run of the day, the first and possibly most spectacular of these being Barry Smithson (Evo VI), who lost it on the fast right-left combination as he crossed the finish line. As it transpired, he was to be the first of many.
Fastest during the morning's four non-competitive runs was Lidster (Evo VI), who was consequently quickest in Class D - the category for the most modified cars - stopping the clock 0.79s ahead of Black (Evo VII). Keith Bryan (Evo VI) topped the Class C time sheets, setting a time good enough to put him fifth-fastest overall, whilst in Class B and A it was Simon Griffiths (Evo VII) and David Forbes (Evo VI) respectively.
Following a short lunch break, when those that could, swapped onto their 'best' tyres and tweaked their machines for optimum performance for the afternoon's six competitive runs. However, although the track was now dry, it was apparent that getting any semblance of heat into the tyres was more than a challenge for competitors that were not fortunate enough to enjoy the benefit of tyre warmers.
Black indicated his intentions for the outset, punching in an impressive 56.30s, a time that put him 1.5s ahead of Lidster, with Brad Sheehan (Evo IX) third and just over a second behind. 0.31s later was Ross Walker in fourth, who admitted that, whilst his recently rebuilt Evo VI's straight-line performance was unquestionable - as it is the car that currently holds the MLR's 30-130 speed record - he was still setting it up to go round corners.
With William Griffiths (Evo IX) initially fastest of the Class C runners and the following three drivers posting times that were within 0.5s of each other, the scene was set for a battle during the afternoon. In contrast, the gap between first and second in Class B was greater, with Alan Blood (Evo VIII) taking the early advantage, whilst in Class A it was Ian Fleming who impressively put his venerable Evo II ahead of the rest in the standard car category.
Although at some points the clouds looked as though they were about to do their worst, the rain thankfully held off, which meant that the times continued to fall the afternoon. At the front, Black and Lidster were out on their own, swapping fastest times by fractions of a second.
With just one run to go, it was Black who held the upper hand by a slender 0.18s and therefore Lidster was determined to make his final assault count. But, it wasn't to be. As he dumped the clutch for the final time there was a loud bang and the car remained stationary, with later inspection revealing that the clutch plate had blasted its way through the bell housing!
Lidster's misfortune meant that Black was now assured of victory, but that didn't stop the eventual winner, as he saved the best till last and set the fastest time of the day on his final run: an impressive 54.63s. Third was Kenny Brookes (Evo V), the round one winner having to settle for the final podium place on this occasion.
At the finish a delighted Logan Black said: "I am really chuffed with how things went today. It's my first MLR Sprint Series win since 2011 and, although my closest rivals weren't able to push me all the way, I was really pleased with my final run, as I felt it was right on the limit. Either way, it's great to come out on top!"
The battle in Class C was also impossible to call until the sixth and final run, with five drivers fighting for supremacy and all of them separated by just 0.59s. In the end it was William Griffiths (Evo IX) who held his nerve, finishing just 0.2s ahead of round one Class C winner Paul Allin (Evo V).
Things had also closed up in Class B, with six drivers in the mix for the leading positions. Initially, it was Simon Griffiths who led the pack, but a 1:00.29 on his sixth and final run sealed the deal for Lee Whitfield (Evo VI), who recorded his second victory in as many events, 0.44s in front of Alan Blood (Evo VIII) who claimed second. Fastest in the standard car category was Forbes (Evo VI), who's fifth run was good enough to see him take a 0.52s advantage in Class A, ahead of round one winner Nick Handbury (Evo XI).
Once again the closeness of competition, the efficient running of the event and a total of 12 runs of the Blyton track for each driver, affirmed that the Pace Ward MLR Sprint Series continues to represent excellent value for money, together with an enjoyable and full day of motorsport.
Round three of the Pace Ward MLR Sprint Series takes place on 15th June, when competitors tackle one of their favourite courses, the slippery in-field tarmac rally stages at Oulton Park.
