hi guys, im still alive :D
that was an absolutely brilliant weekend - strange as it may seem for me to say such but i had a really great time :)
on saturday its obvious to those that were watching that my car was quite easily one of the fastest around the circuit, it was handling, braking and accellerating like a demon.

heres a few pics from the weekend...i did buy a CD with about 45 images on it but i wont paste them all up here.

heres what happened :)
at the end of the start straight theres a very fast and tight (taken flat in 4th) jink between two haybails. it took about a 30 degree twitch of the steering wheel right and then left to get through it ready for the short 20 yard squirt to the next corner. i got through the right twitch absolutely fine and then turned it to the left. unlike all the other laps i had done (which was a lot!) the cars back end came around and carried on sliding until we were facing backwards, heading broadside onto the grass at about 70mph.

as soon as we hit the grass i knew we were going over, especially when the tyres came off the rims and they started to plough a furrow. my last conscious actions before the impact onto the concrete was to yank on the handbrake whilst upside down and assume the foetal position (tucking my head down a little).

it was one hell of a bang when we landed but there were no real injuries of note. my passenger has a few grazed knuckes from the shattered safety glass. the mighty shed was still running too :) i do have some mouth injuries where i managed to bite the hard palate of my mouth and also my left cheek, so its nothing but soup for me in these last few days!

when i returned in the morning, with the help of another club member we pulled the tyres back onto the rim, reconnected the battery and then drove it back to the paddock. :)

edit: ive only just posted this now because the next day i drove back to cornwall for work and have been feeling quite feverish (hopefully just coincidence).
