Pete looks a good event

I'd be interested in having a go next year.
Couple of questions
Do you need to have race cut off switch,race belts and extinguisher etc or is a road car ok?
Does your crash helmet have to be in spec etc
How much was the race licence on the day?

Hi Scott
The car is scrutineered over before you can sign on but its just for loose stuff like battery , wires and potential hazards . They do have a look at your crash helmet , mines a motorbike one and thats ok . I have a cutoff switch and a harness but i don't think they are essential ' i also have an extinguisher but they wanted it properly strapped so that it cannot fly loose in a crash . You have to make sure that the battery terminals are covered and the earth lead is yellow , why yellow i don't know but i just wrapped mine with yellow tape . Although its aimed at trackday cars you have to bare in mind that its also a competition setup and you will want to push it a bit as you will want to go quicker . As such i feel safer with harness and a roll bar as a few cars did come off , more so than a TD .
I would do it again next year and it was a real friendly atmosphere , the only downer was the English weather . Nearly forgot , licences are a fiver per event or

ok sounds ok

Mine is already part race car it has 4 point harnesses (not race though) and full roll cage etc
