9th August at Snett

Post by Jon »

Had a superb outing at Snett on Monday with some mates from SC, This was my second (or third?) Focused Events track day and I must say that it was superbly organized.
The day went very smoothly throughout and the standard of driving was exemplary + there were no stoppages (that I saw). The usual fare was there from GT3 RS's, Caterfields, BM's and a mental Mini & Beetle.
Without question the best day I've had on track, And for once my Scoob didn't shit itself (Apart from a split rad hose, But that was soon cured with some Hylomar and duct tape :D)
I've certainly not got the fastest or best handling car, BUT, After two years of constantly throwing money at the fcuking thing, I can say that I'm finally happy with it :auto:

Also had a chance to try out the home made camera mount (skip the first 3 minutes and click HD)...

I was there too in one of the M3's.

In fact I was in the garage next to the crazy mini. They didn't have the best day to be honest. They got there and an engine mount was broken. So the Dad went to Kings Lynn to get a new one. Come back, fitted it, and then they got black flagged for being too noisy.

Was yours the red Scooby? I may have some footage of you from where I was following you. If I have I'll get it uploaded to youtube and post the link. :)

That Red Mini in the pictures..

Was far too loud at all times. Every time it went on circuit it was failing the drive by limit. The worst was 104db, which for reference is louder than F2 and some GT1 cars.

With 92db track-day limits there is no hope.

nice video angle Jon, some optimistic cornering entry speed at the bomb hole (11.43) arse chewing the seat scenario maybe :smilielol5:

I'll have a search through my videos mate and see what I can find.

No, that's not me. Mine is just a normal M3 and had black 18" wheels with a silver stripe. Number plate ended in PND.

PS,

Anyone feel free to let me know if they have pictures or videos of me.

PPS.

Thanks and well done to the eagle eyed marshals who spotted that just one side of my bonnet wasn't fully closed. It was barely noticeable when I stopped in the pits so god knows how you spotted it whilst I was driving round.
