Brands GP Circuit

Post by slarty bartfast »

We are looking into possibly doing the full GP circuit on the 2nd June if work allows.

Has anybody done it and is it worth the extra money over say Cadwell???
Cheers

Years ago and yes. The fact that you're racing/driving at one of the prettiest circuits with some devilish corners, let alone the history of the place. Go for it

Trackday prices will see a significant hike anyway, so we're all going to have to get used to

I've done the GP circuit twice now and it's one of my favourites!!!
You should definetly go for it....

Great bends, a nice couple of straights... quite un-nerving first time under the bridge down the back straight... can't help ducking your head the first time....
Take regular exercise, walk to you car!

At 400 quid I would have to say no. Personally I'd spend half that amount on Oulton, because it's a better circuit. Of course, you may prefer south London to Cheshire, plus there's a lower chance of rain at Brands.

I've raced a bike a couple of times at Brands GP and, yes, it's a great circuit. For a car trackday it's better than Cadwell because it's wider, but is it more characterful? Similar I'd say. Oulton is like Cadwell on steroids, so I'd say it's better than Brands GP. For me, the only thing that made Brands GP special was how infrequently we got to race there. Oh, and Dingle Dell was awesome, before they straightened it out.

Stu - why are trackday prices rising so much? Is it just a case of MSV et al ramping up to see what the market will stand? Over 10 years the hire fees have doubled, yet the running costs can't have changed anything like that amount.

I would love to drive this circuit but 2nd June is a little too soon for me. I want to get the car a bit more "sorted" before I spend
