I am doing the Lotus day, and will do Lydden later in teh year i think.

Are you going for these?

If they're not really a UK-market tyre, do you think their temperature range is suitable? ie. will they warm up quick enough?

Nope Andy

Found out these are only e-marked for the OEM Lotus sizes, all other sizes are import only, very expensive and not road legal!!! Damn!

Currently have some ony my Impreza. The big tread blocks on the outer edges seem to resist heat build up very well and are great for track days. Decently stiff side wall too. Their break away is nice and predictable too. Out and out grip was less than terrific though so they wouldn't be my first choice for a sprint.
