Buttercup - I 'think' it is to check you have a licence but better safe than sorry and bring the passport aswell. (stu may be able to confirm better)

Helmet - if you are thinking of buying one for this event, probably the easiest is get along to a MotorBike shop and trying some on as they will be cheaper than motorsport spec helmets and will be fine for use on a track day. (full face tends to be cheaper too)

Other than that someone here may lend you one if you put out an appeal in Wanted or one of the traders here could maybe get one in time for you.

Is the credit card bit of the licence required to show you have one or for indentification? Only I still have the old stylee paper only so would need to bring my passport if it has to be something with a photo on!

Also any recommendations for where I can get a helmet at a reasonable cost? Is open face better for visibility when driving? Does it need to be a certain spec?
No need to apologise (this time ]http://www.asptrading.co.uk/acatalog/asp_TRADING.html[/url]
Obviously you will need to stress that there is a timescale involved.......his service is excellent so this may be your best bet. In terms of whether open face offers better visability, I think it is a perception more than anything else. If you are used to wearing one, a full face is fine, if not an open face may be better for you (if nothing else you will be able to scream obscenities at your passengers more clearly :thumb: )

Any problems please shout.

Buttercup, I've got a spare one here I could bring along, it's a nice shade of yellow too so should be just the job  not sure of the size but it fits my big head.

I have the paper licence too and never had a problem. They are still legal tender. It's not an i.d. issue, more that you have one.

BTW took Liz out for a first drive of the scooby today in readiness for Weds. bit different to her 1600 escort she said :o

Please give us a wide berth on Weds, we're in the white, mobile chicane. :-D

you wont have to have a passenger so you should be fine.

I am sure there will be other more experienced people available if you want to get some guidance for the first session. He will be fine to go out without a briefing so long as disclaimer signed AFAIK.
