Hi All,

I am fellow petrol head from Norwich, I heard about this forum via 'pantera chris' whos got a sweet RX7. I am looking into getting a track car in the next year, I am just trying to work out if I wanna get into drifting or straight tracking. Any advice or experiences would be great to hear as I am quite new track days and RWD cars.


Currently I am driving a 350z, shes stock for now but I plan on doing some basic mods next year (saving for a wedding at the moment!) I would take her on the track but I am worried about binning it!

Before the Zed I had a MK4 Golf 1.8 Turbo which I did alot of mods on myself. Was running about 200 bhp when I got rid of it for the Zed...

Then before that I had a Toyota Celica which was a cracking laugh and was my first sporty (ish only had 105 bhp) car



Looking forward to meeting you guys in the future and checking out peoples rides! :drool5:

Really nice car you have there. Always had a soft spot for the 350z, it got a very unusual exhaust note.

Look forward to seeing it up close.

Welcome to the club!
Love the Z, and the Golf looks to have been good also.
There's all levels of experience and cars on here, so you won't be mocked for asking a daft question, I've already asked most of them;)

Hi Dom

Track and drift use are a great combo and very achievable with the right car. My personal preference (from experience) would be something like an old E36 straight six; tough, cheap, forgiving and pretty quick when lightened. My old M3 was 1138 kgs and drove like a dream, so that would be exactly where I would start from and just scale back the engine size if you want to save money- easy as that! Much less than a 325i will be a bit limp though so make your choice carefully.

Welcome to the forum. We will be holding an Autotest style event in July (I hope) so pop along to that as it will double up as a Summer evening meet :thumbs:
