Been a long time since I have frequented the site, but a lot has changed in my life. Came out of the forces, faced with no job for 4 months and then I hit the jackpot with a job out in Saudi. Now working on Tornado's for the R.S.A.F doing the same sort of job. Stripping the whole aircraft, commisioning engines and putting the dam thing back together again. Now live over here 10 months of the year. I moved the family closer to the inlaws in Telford, where we bought a new house. In my spare time I have taken up a web design course, so that hopefully when I decide to come away from Saudi I have a career ahead of me, totally different than manual work. Here is a little project I have been working on for an assignment
http://www.gtr-owners.co.uk any comments welcome, good or bad.
I now drive a Holden Commodore 5.7L V8 Rear wheel drive beast in Saudi, or a Chevy Lumina as they are called out here. Good fun car but the gearbox is shocking and can't handle the torque of the engine. Some upgrades are in order I think. Any hows, I will be on the forum a lot more now to keep up with you all on what's new.

Welcome back to the site, it's always good when people find their way back.
That site looks smart, do you do the design and the maintenance? It's always been an interest, but would nt have the first clue where to start with to be honest.
Get some piccies up of the Commodore, few of us could afford the petrol for one of those, but then you're not paying

Welcome back Terry
The sites OK mate, but the site is only ever as good as its content or contributors. Glad to hear that life in the UEA is looking after you

Thanks for the welcome back Stuart. As requested, here she is.
Well I live in Saudi Arabia and only get chance to drive my Skyline for 2 months of the year. Therefore, my only option was to buy another car out here in Saudi. I searched for a very long time for a Skyline out here but to no avail or anyone I did find wasn't registered. In Saudi new rules stipulate that any car over 5 years old can not be imported into the country unless used off road. Everyone who had a Skyline registered holds on to it.
So I went out and bought a typical American Muscle car. This is my Chevrolet Lumina SS 5.7Litre V8 Auto.
The more knowledgable people out there will be saying that is not American is is Australian and you will be half right. It is a rebranded Holden Commodore VY SS with a Chevrolet badge. The engine is an American Ls1 Gen 3. Well here she is. I have a few mods in mind, which include exhaust, headers and a maffless tune. Then maybe upgrade the gearbox and start looking at superchargers. I have already added some upgraded DBA Brakes so she stops nicely, and a quick shift kit to the auto box. This is a great RWD fun car, back end slides out with ease when traction control is off.
Performance figures
Power 320 bhp / 239 KW @ 5200 rpm
Torque 465 Nm / 343 ft lbs @ 4400 rpm
BHP/Liter 56 bhp / liter
Power to weight 0.2 bhp / kg
