Noob with a different take on BP...

Post by Danst5 »

Just had a crackin chat with a guy (Tony from B.S.Edmunds- Black Scooby), whos going to replace some windows for me and we got talking over a brew, as you do...He mentioned about you guys so I thought Id have a look and say hi.
Although there do appear to be a lot of scoobs on here, I like the idea of the club and so I thought Id introduce my sweedish estate to the brew and see what you guys thought...

Shes a 99 (T) V70 (the slab sided shape) T5 estate. I havent had her all that long and I only really got her because I wanted something to lug big things around in that was quick- couldnt afford a tasty rs4 estate, so here she is! Treated aleady to Eibach sports suspension, the larger 18" T5R wheels, a K&N, cat back exhaust and Rica chip she really does go- well for an estate- not sure its going to keep up with a scoob on a run, but a similar car was dynoed at 315hp, so its in the ball park... Does weigh a bit more though...

Ill get some pics up as soon as I can and Im looking forward to seeing some of you at a Snetterton track day soon!
Im up in Suffolk, in Finningham, so if any of you fancy a brew, the kettle's always on!
Cheers,
Dan

Welcome Dan,
Nothing wrong with your ride mate. We had a guy in the club with a near standard T5. He had freat fun on track and quite a capable car with a great engine.
Hope to see you at some events and meets then

I think we all know which Tony, black Scoob and chats for England  You're in good hands there.

The T5 estates gave many people a shock in the BTCC a few years back and they've been a good workhorse for quite a few police forces. Nice choice for being different.

T5R 5 pot lump seems pretty strong! As said it went very well in the BTCC.

My dad has always had quick Volvos as his "daily drivers" currently has a V70 R.Last year he had entered a sprint, but sadly his sprint car wasn't ready in time...so he turned up & entered in the Volvo!!!
He did ok in the results, i think he beat a couple guys in our class.....I think the best bit was spending the lunch break siting in it wirth the aircon on watching the MotoGP on the built in satnav/TV 8)

Hi and welcome to Bp Dan. As many of us on here say it is not the car you drive, it's how you use it. ( in the proper place of course). :)
I may be getting older but I REFUSE to grow up :D

Love those T5's, welcome to the club.
Get some pictures up mate, be good to see it.

PS Seen some of the same shape drag race @ North Weald a few times, they always seem to post pretty good times and have good fun in the process, which is the whole point!
