Hi Guys,

I was just introduced to BigPower by Bryan with his insane Skyline - bumped into him on cardomain. Looks like a great site and will certainly be spending some time in here.

I've had my CSL for almost 3 years, and in that time it's taught me a huge amount about car control, especially catching the oversteer! I still try not to use it much in the wet just from past experience and how lively the back end is most of the time - 3rd gear 65mph boot in the outside lane of the M27 in a straight line with just a slightly damp road once, saw me fishtailing in proper fashion. It's got the pilot sports on it, have been tempted by the cups but as I've used it for daily driving i think that may make it just that bit too mental for daily use given the UK climate...

It's a stock car currently, but i haven't felt the need to really mess with it, I run it on v-power and it keeps up with / does pretty much everything (but now I'm in here with you guys I may stand corrected by the looks of some of the machinery...!)

On top of my love of cars I also run a website that may be of interest to some forum members - http://www.HonestJohnny.co.uk - we have a car insurance comparison area if anyone's looking for better quotes. Sorry if that's classed as a plug, but thought it might be a helpful link with insurance companies only ever increasing premiums to anyone that owns a car with a proper engine.

I look forward to meeting everyone in here and finding out about what events are going on - i recently got married and after a year of being involved in the planning... I really need a new hobby!

Cheers,

Al

Hi Al

welcome to the forum. CSL's are great cars, certainly good overtaking fodder on trackdays ;)

Glad you like the look of the site, it is something that is kind of organically evolving so the improvements should be regular and steady, but so far so good.

I would have to politely ask that you dump the signature/link as our existing insurance schemes with the likes of Adrian Flux, Keith Michaels etc may be affected as you don;t have a trade account. By all means sign up (and pay up :) ) and then you can openly plug your wares as freely as you like.

Have you had your car out on any circuits yet?

As for the new hobby.........tuning CSL's will be dearer than getting married :D

Hey guys,

thanks for the warm welcome! and great to see there's a few CSL's on here too. In the 3 years i've owned it I've only seen 4 others on the roads, and one was being driven at 50mph in the inside lane on the A3 by some well doddery old fella. As i drove past and beeped to acknowledge a fellow CSL driver, he just looked at me as if to see, "yes?". bah, what a waste!

didn't run at snetterton, in fact never tracked it to date, shamefully...

sorted the link out Stuart, sorry! Let me know what's needed on the trade side, could well be interested. And what do you guys recommend tuning-wise, like what power gains are fairly within reach to start off with, without dropping some serious dollar...?!

Bealo has just spunked 6k on some very smutty mods for his CSL, and this seems to be the first tangible level of performance investment in the cars (decent AP brakes all around and pukka suspension) I suppose you could go for one or the other?

He is delighted with the response by the way :)

Regarding the trade side of it, click here

Hopefully we can be of help :thumb:
