Hi All
Been introduced by a Cerbera owning mate (hello Dan). I'm in to daft rwd saloons, previous steeds include a Lotus Carlton and a supercharged Holden Commodore (5.7 V8). I am in temporary ownership of another Holden (3.8 V6 n/a) but thats only until I decide what to upset the green party with next.
Its either got to be another 5.7 V8 but a much more modern set up using probably a harrop unit rather than the vortech screw type that I had or maybe a cerb.
I've done the Marham track day twice now in the Holden (5.7 s/c) first time wasn't very successful as piston 7 was in 3 pieces and the second time round a blew the main hose from the intercooler to the throttle body so was losing all my boost.
If there's a next time then things should be 'interesting' 8)
cheers

Howdy doo
No unfortunately not.dynamix wrote:Welcome Si - very interesting choice of track weapon :thumb:
Are you doing Marham this year, we still have some slots available for the saturday ?
My current car, although it does look like a bit of a weapon is a bit too "all show, no go". As soon as I get it SVA'd I will sell it on and then get back to stoopid power again. My old supercharged Holden was great on the straights but physics would do its thing on the bends  Only got out-dragged by two cars in the day (before I went bang), one was a Ferrari Enzo and the other a porsche carrera Gt. Not too shabby for a 4 door family saloon!
Still, can't keep dwelling on the past, got to start planning the next one, the power delivery from the positive displacement type blowers is unbelievable in comparison to my old vortech jobby.

Hi Si & :welcome:
I drove the old 6.0 Monaro VXR at Bedford and that was pretty quick in a straight line, but as you've said not much cop on the corners.
Should be an awesome bit of kit though.
I look forward to seeing the pics when you get it

The difficulty is finding a suitable donor car. I could buy my old one back again but as it will then mean ripping the current system out and fitting the new one it becomes a bit too expensive. I will have to be patient, source the right donor car then start playing. This time round though I will slam the suspension a little and fit polybushes all round. With a 9psi pulley I should be around about 570bhp. Then I'm thinking along the lines of side exit exhausts and huge carbon fibre rear wing for the full-on Aussie V8 race car look........................be rude not to! :-D 8)
