Afternoon all....

Thought i would join up here as there seems to be a fair few likeminded people around!!

Been doing Time Attack since its inception 3 years ago, although i had a bit of a failure last season early on that put me out of it for 2007. Still, this year i have a new chariot (R33 GTR) and a few new ideas to try and get back up there....

The car was bought as near to stock as possible and was allround a pretty good example. It is a late 1995 GTR in white. However i have started to put my mark on it, and it will end up in TA spec by mid to late feb (engine work completed in early feb) so hopefully i will be good to go come the first round (not like last year mapping at 8pm the night before)

Rough spec:
Stock RB26DETT engine
HKS 2540 Turbos
HKS Suction Induction
700cc SARD Injectors
OS Giken Carbon Clutch
Tomei Poncams Type B
D2 adjustible suspension
Ksport 8 pot 356mm Front Brakes
Cusco front/rear upper arms
Cusco front rear/toe rods
Tomei HICAS Lock
Apexi Power FC
Z32 AFMs
Apexi AVCR
Cusco 11 point cage
Autoselect carbon Canards
265/45/17 R888s

No interior (soon)
No audio
No Aircon
Mid season will be getting a few lightened panels, doors/boot/bonnet etc...

hopefully "race weight" will be <1350kgs with the light panels, and just over 1400kgs without, so it should shift. We are going to push the standard engine very hard, but i am building its replacement in parallel as i have obtained a good condition block that i will bore out to 2.7 which will hopefully drive the turbos a little better.

Powerwise we should be looking at around 580/450 in feb, and 650-700/520-550 on the built engine. Should be fun!

Look forward to competing with a few of you :D

Welcome Neil :D

We meet up at Snetterton each month and very often have useage of the weighbridge there to see for certain any weight decreases if that is worthwhile for you. I think the weight loss will be more than you think.

Also, we are running quite a few events at Snetterton for you to get some practice in before October 8)

The engine build sounds superb and will probably do you much better than a subaru tractor and will have a great power to weight.

Also, looking forward to competing against you as we didnt get a chance last year :thumb:

sounds good, im looking forward to it as a finale already. Just hope the car makes it to the end!!

Fingers crossed they will release the info we are all waiting for soon....i know it was promised in early jan....after all they will most likely want payment sharpish!

Im hoping the car will perform a little better thanthe impreza did, although its difficult to get used to predominantly RWD...even now with remapped stock turbos its still very quick, FULL weight...so 250 more bhp and 150kgs less should be very silly indeed!!!

Welcome on board Neil :thumb:

I think that your car and spec should do pretty well for you this year, it certainly reads very well. There are several common items listed with my own :D (Just a shame my GTR won't be aired until later in the year, but hey ho)

It would be interesting to know what you think of the development of TA in it's third season. Like many people on here, I'm a massive fan of the event from a paying customers point of view. Some people have been a little negative about the 'clubby' side of the event being left behind and a much more professional, disciplined event taking over. I'm all for it but there we are. A topic for another thread maybe :)

Best of luck with your project, Time Attack and I hope you enjoy our forum.
