Hello From Sunny Cambridge

Post by Opentrack »

Ok hello !
yes i think i am the latest " New Member " well what should i say , i love cars and bikes had some dull cars in the past and a few dull bikes as well
worst car was a fiat uno 55s i never new what the S stood for but i was not speed , i have also had a Daihatsu dommino which was a good laugh while at College
for a few years studying Design and Photography. It was a 3 cylinder 600cc box on wheels but reved like a modern v-tech.

After college i started to work as a Photographic assistant to some of he uks best Car Photographers which only fulled my passion for cars
and i have been lucky, to work on some realy nice add campaigns as well ,Claim to fame is being in the first Porsche Boxster Brochure, this came about as the male
model in the states booked for the job only bothered to tell every one at 05.00 in the morning that he could not drive a " stick shift " as he called it
so as a lowly asistant i was told to hop in and drive the car , this was 6 months before the Launch and only 3 cars were made a that time ,so thank god i did not crash !

i have worked as a Freelance Car Potographer now for about 10 years for various magazines based in the USA and Uk the work is good fun as i get to shoot some of the most interesting cars
and people around in some of the best locations .....my dream job ;-) Except i Hate Digital

If you fancy looking at my work my site is http://www.davewoodall.com

Worst bike was a Honda H100 i think it went to 65mph flat out leaning over the bars , best Bike was a 900ss Ducati for the sound and a Yamaha yzf750 for speed.
after a bit of an offfffff i promished the wife no more bikes however plans are a foot for a new one next year .
Car wise i have 2 daily drives, a Subaru legacy for me and a Grand Jeep cherokee 4.0 for the wife and child .
and for the track i have a 4.0ltr v8 mgbgt which for a while was a featured staff car in the now closed Retro car Magazine  It is just about finished a 4 year build
from a bare shell upwards, the only origional part on the car is the shell, every other part is new the New engine has been put together by Guglielmi motorsport Davenrty the V8 is mated to a old ( rebuilt ) Rover SD1 Vitesse 5 speed box , so with the avaliable gearing it should se the best side of 130 mph i hope.
The cars first big trip is a RMA track event for two days at the Nurburgring next month 8th and 9th november where the track is closed to the public so thank god no buses !
also with RMA you can do flying laps all ay as the track is open fully from 9 till 5 so no need to pull in half way down the straight.

The Legacy may be going next year to make way for a z3m coupe as they are now getting to a better price as well and the Jeep is on Piston Heads as i cant cope with 20 Mpg
and that will be replace by a Forester Turbo. So there you go hopefully as the meets are in snetterton which is only about 50 miles i should between work and Nappies get to one soon
that is as they say " Thats all folks " :) :)

was that too long ?

Welcome sir :)

The RMA days at the 'ring are tempting and reasonably priced too - sounds like you will have a blast. Fingers crossed for good weather for you :thumb:

Hi Dave and welcome to BP. Enjoyed reading your intro and now come over all unnecessary while looking at your website.

There are some stunning shots on there. =D> :notworthy: :notworthy: =D>

Look forward to seeing your MG as I had the factory GTV8 many years ago.
