Hi there! I found this forum by seeing a chance mention of it by Andy Stevens on Scoobynet. It's exactly what I've been looking for these past few weeks.
I went to my first trackday at Bedford Autodrome last weekend and have become hopelessly addicted to going on the track. Scoobynet and SIDC didn't meet my requirements of being track focussed forums so your forum is a godsend. Additionally, those forums (and the MLR who are a bit more track focussed) are mainly restricted to one make/model so the events would always be similar. By the way I am not putting down those forums, they are all excellent. I am merely stating that this forum meets a different need of mine  I like the notion of this forum being open to any type of car owner and I look forward to jioning in.
I'm off to Nurburgring on 26-28 May. Is anyone else from this forum? I wont' be taking my car but will be accompanying my friend in his Cobra. Photos from Bedford below:

Thanks for the warm welcome. To answer the various questions, I am based in Stevenage, Herts so Snetterton is over 70 miles away. If your meets occur on a weekend then it should be possible to come along now and again. Re the Ring - I have never been but I've driven it maybe 10,000 times on Gran Turismo. I've read many times that playing it on GT4 is good to learn the track generally, but nothing will prepare me for the elevation changes, narrowness of track and lack of run off. And that's not even mentioning the buzz of actually being there in person!
And lastly, that Beetle! I didn't get the chance to speak to the driver but I know that it sounded like a jet engine (that's not an exagerration - it really sounded like a turbine was spinning around in it!), it only had one centre positioned seat and there was a large diameter (6-7 inches) hose I could see in the rear passenger compartment. I followed it for a while and its chassis was well sorted. I overtook him but he may have been on slow down laps.

There is a massive difference in the gradients in real life compared to Gran Turismo, I think my response to seeing the first dip on the track was "F*CKIN' HELL"
I used to work in Stevenage at FIRA off Gunnels Wood Road, used to see a few tasty motors go past my window, never saw yours though

Rolty, I've only lived in Stevenage since last August and lived between Ware (Herts) and West London in the previous three and a half years.
I've owned this particular Impreza since last July and before that I had a 2002 WRX Wagon for a couple of months, and before that a 2003 WRX saloon for a few more months - all because of babies (our first) and buying a house (in Stevenage).

Spooky coincidences. Hi tommySTI I live in Stevenage too.
And Rolty I also used to work at FIRA (although a good few years ago now)!
