another new

Post by scrote »

Hello
I'm new on here since last night.
I turned up at Snetterton yesterday and saw a few bigpower.co.uk stickers on bonnets
So I thought I'd take a look.
Although it seems to be mainly jap stuff? on here it does seem to be geared towards things i love
such as trackdays and especially nordschleife
I drive an old black ford escort from back in the day before most of you were born (1977)
but I also own a thing called the goonybus some of you may have had the misfortune to witness
I also went to the meet at Snetterton last night, good turnout, will be really good in the summer
I spotted that your ringleader is the chap who owns the videoshop 800 yards from my house
See you all around

Hi Stu

The foundation of the site is all about using cars of a performance nature in a performance related fashion. There were indeed a lot of Japanese cars there last night but we have members who own everything from Mercedes, BMW's, Jaguars, Fords, VW's and Porsches etc etc

Tell us a bit more about your cars and driving experience (ie trackdays/Ring etc)
Lastly, who did you attend the meet with?

Thanks for the welcomes
I didn't mean to imply that I have something against Jap cars
in fact it makes a nice change as I only seem to go to ford shows
certainly gonna turn up to these meets as it's on my doorstep

well I'm off back to the ring easter weekend, I think with hindsight you lot have picked the better date as easter is gonna be too busy
only consolation I am hoping for is that they do another 'easter special' and open up the gp circuit added on to the nordschleife.
I do quarters at santapod on april 22
and on 29th top speed event hopefully. Did 165.7 mph measured for a mag
0 to 100 in 9.7
not fast by bigpower standards but good for a ford escort
hoping to hit 175mph + this year if I use the gas
having a lot of work donein preparation

I turned up with some RAF boys, adam who took the white cossie
they have mates on here with an rx-7 and skyline
I partly came to see the facilities offered by Snetterton as the RS club is hoping to move meets there starting April...

cheers

Welcome on Board Stu.

I hope you dont mind but I removed the linky to the goonybus as it isnt the kind of thing that we want to actively promote on here.

Sounds like you have got yourself a bit of a shifter there ... hope to see it at future meets and events. :thumb:

We spent a bit of time choosing the right time to return to the ring and although we havent got full day openeing, the quietness of the track in comparison to easter mayhem should give us great amounts of lapping time :D ..cant wait

Welcome to Big Power, to be honest if its a car thats used in anger in a sensible place then we dont care if it isnt Jap !!!!

Its nice to have plenty of variety rather than being a particular type of car club !!
